Complications at the anastom osis

After 24 of the 59 operations, either a necrosis of the pulled-through colon or an insufficiency of the anastomosis occurred(40.7%). None of the patients with fistulae experienced anastomotic insufficiency or necrosis, whereas the rate of these

complications in patients of with carcinomas was 51.3% (Table 2).
