History of innovation focusing on 3th computing systems era – Cognitive Systems:Punched Card Tabulator – one of the first machines being able to compute vast amounts of data. Used during USA census calculations, marks the beginning of the 1st computing systems era - Tabulating Machines.
IBM FORTRAN – one of the first general-purpose, imperative programming language allowing the user to take control over the computers tasks. Marks the beginning of the 2nd computing systems era – Programming Computers.
IBM Personal Computer – The IBM Personal Computer (IBM PC) model 5010 dominated the market for many years setting a new standard for the „computer for masses”.
IBM DeepBlue – „a chess-playing computer” won with world championship Garry Kasparov. DeepBlue showed the capabilities of parallel processing and was a highlight for the Programming Computers era.
IBM 5in5 – IBM started to issue 5 technology predictions which will substantially change our lifes within next 5 years.
IBM Watson – computer build by IBM which won the Jeopardy with two human champions. Watson was able to understand the human language. Marks the beginning of the 3th computing systems era – Cognitive Systems.
Front Office Transformation – new „client agenda”focusing on interaction with the client through mobile and social media. Current trend in business and IT.
Atomic-scale magnetic memoryBeing able to increase the data density of devices means
more storage in a smaller space: specifically, storage that is
100 times denser than today's hard disk drives, 150 times
more dense than solid-state memory. An entire music and
movie collection could fit on a charm-sized pendant around
your neck.
