1. Be prepared – Prepared an outline and put them on index cards or a sheet of

paper.

2. Write your own introduction – Introduction should include your credentials and

other important points from your bio.

3. Dress comfortably

4. Breathe – Take a deep breath. If too quickly, take another breathe before you

continue.

5. With practice, you can become confident, polished speaker – Take advantage

of opportunities to hone your skills.

6. Arrive early – Check out the room

7. Adjust your attitude – Keep reminding yourself that audience wants you to

succeed.

8. Smile – Make you look confident

9. Speak from notes or memory – Don’t read your text

10.Speak as if you are holding an animated conversation – Speak in language,

images, and terms that the audience readily understands.

11.Be yourself – Good sense of humour, use it. Never imitate another speaker.
