Shortlist of DesignBy Anthony Fissler

For this I think about fonts, colours, layout and design idea. I was hoping to replicate the same font used in the Sugababes’ album, ‘Taller In More Way’, however, I’d have to do some experimentation on Photoshop to find a font similar to this

Initial Ideas For the initial idea of my digipak, I wanted to use the conventions used in generic pop albums so that it’s easily identifiable by my target audience. For example, I would use a basic image of the girls for the front cover, with simplistic font for the text. I would also use record-label idents associated with pop music (e.g. Universal Records, Island Music).

Colour As for colours, I think it’d be best if we stuck to the monochrome colour-scheme used in the video – I would preferably like to use white-coloured text with a black background; however, we need to take pictures before I can make a decision. Because gold is a part of our synergy, I’m contemplating on using gold-coloured text for the track-listing, however, I wouldn’t want to make my digipak look messy or inconsistent, I think I’ll need to do research into Jessie J’s ‘Who You Are’ and see how she used gold.

LayoutAs for layout, my digipak is going to consist of 4-panels. Though it’s self-explanatory what’s used for the outside panels, I need to think about what my inside panels will contain. For my left-panel, I’m keen on putting a songbook with cut-outs in the corner of the panel holding the songbook in place. I can create the cut-outs using the shapes tool, however, I think this is more complicated as it sounds, I think I’ll need to experiment in workshop.
