Gathering scheduled and had surprising results.

Jane McDonald gave a presentation about the church oblation program. The use of world church oblation is encour-aged in our mission center, but it does require that certain guidelines be followed. An oblation presentation will be delivered to each congregation by their financial officer in the near future. A presentation about audits was given by Lee Wakefield and Lynn Poplett.

It’s a physically heavy job, but it’s one Doug McFarlane obviously relishes as he prepares the Cedar Valley-Nauvoo book recycling collection for the 2015 reunion season.

Lots of selections have been added to the collection and are ready for new owners. “I would like to encourage that when members clean out their books, they consider donating

them to this ministry,” he says. Donations from families who do

not know what to do with church re-lated items following the death of a member are also welcomed. “Only recently, a family member did not know what to do with many early Cedar Valley Grove pictures and information, and they were tossed,” he said. Pictures, books, tracts, old camp logs — anything church related, — are certainly usable.” Any materials of an historical nature are given to Lach MacKay at the Joseph Smith Historic Site in Nauvoo. At the present time we have recycled around 2,000 books, quarter-lies, and pamphlets. Thank you for pro-viding the opportunity for the print and slide materials to keep on ministering.
