IntroductionShow & Event Security is a specialist crowd
management company that places public safety
as paramount in every aspect of its planning.
Our organisation is capable of assisting every
event organiser – regardless of the scale of their
requirements or the complexity of their individual
operation – and our management team has more
than five decades of collective experience in venue
and crowd management.
Our venue management strategy involves
developing an individual service to match your
specific venue requirements, by creating a robust
plan that can be amended as an ongoing real-time
working document. This is critical when establishing
a team approach towards venue and public safety.
Our vision is to provide our customers with the
most cost-effective solution, without reducing
standards of service or compromising public safety.
These principles and constant investment provide
the platform and support to enable the company to
deliver the service it is committed to, by continually
improving our operating systems.
We offer a broad range of services including
consultancy, project management, door supervision,
static security, safety stewarding, CCTV operatives
and close protection security. Our head office,
incorporating our NCFE, BIIAB and EDEXCEL
approved training centre, is located in Enfield
and we also have sub-branches in Peterborough,
Birmingham and Wales.
Our goal is to assist you in whatever you require
and we have an established track record in providing
personnel for all your needs.
We pride ourselves in supplying an efficient and
professional service, meeting all current legislation
and ultimately providing a safe and enjoyable event.
It’s no exaggeration to say that the range of our
operation is limited only by your imagination.
Show & Event Security has the experience,
technology and trained personnel to maintain and
deliver a service second to none, no matter what size
the event. It is this commitment and the application
of traditional values, which have made the business
the success it is today.
The company prides itself on quality, attention
to detail and the ability to tailor our requirements
to customers’ specific needs. Be assured also that
our quality system complies with British Standards
registration ISO 9001 UKAS Accreditation. We
operate to industry standards BS14001, BS18001
and are a Government Security Industry Authority-

from highly experienced SIA qualified staff that have
gained extensive operational experience at a wide variety
of events. Trained in both conflict management and
physical intervention they have the ability to manage
diverse situations and deal with potential confrontational
incidents to the safest practicable outcome.
A video camera operator accompanies response teams

ground-breaking training The Show & Event Security training portfolio is a groundbreaking training package designed to meet
and surpass all known externally set standards and criteria. In doing so, it provides a flexible approach to
client-specific training, allowing the integration of new, perhaps unique, modules without compromising
the underpinning minimum National Standards.
The company’s training division provides training to comply with the standards set by the regulating
bodies, including NCFE, BIIAB, EDEXCEL, NVQ, and Buckinghamshire New University.
All of our trainers have an approved teaching qualification, including the A1 assessor award, as well as,
most significantly, operational management experience. By having firsthand experience of dealing with
crowds at events ranging from 100 people to 150,000 people they are able to teach “from the heart” and
draw on realistic experiences.
The material is designed to meet the needs of varying degrees of responsibility, from basic stewarding
duties through to event management. The modular approach adopted means complete flexibility in
course design allowing specific modules to be extracted from particular courses and assembled together
to form a tailor made training package as individual as a client’s unique requirements.

Professional Conduct
Our professional image is supported by our commitment to also ensure the professional
conduct of our staff. Our induction training and continual assessment not only informs the staff
of our company what our policies are but also monitors the standards they are expected to
maintain. For example...
l It is against company policy for Show & Event Security staff to solicit from any artist, client,
promoter, venue or members of their staff, photographs, autographs, tickets or passes.
l It is against company policy to bring non-company personnel to work without prior consent.
l To maintain our professional standards, all staff are requested to arrive for work 15 minutes
prior to their call time.
l When representing the company our staff are requested to maintain a high professional
standard towards their work and appearance at all times.
From the very beginning we have recognised that discrimination is unacceptable and have
adopted a formal equal opportunities policy. Our policy has been reviewed to ensure that we
continue to meet the guidelines set by the current Equality Act (2010) and is implemented in
accordance with all appropriate statutory requirements and relevant codes of practice.
Breaches of the policy may lead to disciplinary action. The aim of the policy is to ensure no job
applicant or employee is discriminated against, either directly or indirectly, in recruitment or
employment on the grounds of age, race, colour, nationality, ethnic origin, religion,
political opinion, sex, marital/civil partnership status, pregnancy and maternity, disability,
sexual orientation or gender reassignment. As part of our commitment we will ensure that the
policy is circulated to any external persons responsible for our recruitment. A copy of the policy
will be made available for all contractors, employees and applicants for employment.

Show & Event Security employ more than 800 event and security personnel. We take
particular care in the recruitment of all employees as we believe it is crucial to providing the
level of service our clients require. We have adequate supervisory staff to ensure that, where
necessary, all events have a supervisor on site to ensure the smooth running of the event. We
recruit locally wherever possible to minimise the time, expense and effort taken by our staff in
travelling to and from work. This approach is reflected in our advertising for new applicants.
In applying to join Show & Event Security each individual must complete a comprehensive
application form. All applicants must:
l Be willing and able to work night and weekend shifts.
l Be able to work as part of a team.
l Possess the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing,
with people at all levels and with diplomacy and tact.
l Be able to use their own initiative and work unsupervised when necessary.
l Above all, meet our clients’ requirements and demonstrate flexibility in
attitude and approach to their work as and when client needs change.
In completing their individual application forms, prospective employees are required to sign a
declaration specifying their understanding and consent that:
l Show & Event Security will undertake vetting and verification of their work history.
l Show & Event Security will undertake a higher level of screening (BS 7858) where the
position they are applying for involves the undertaking of security duties.
l Show & Event Security will request a medical examination if they deem it necessary.
l The applicant certifies that the information provided in their application form is true.
l Any misrepresentation of the facts may result in their immediate dismissal.
l All event personnel are screened to BS 8406, Event Services and Crowd Safety
Services Code of Practice.
Each applicant attends a presentation providing information on the job specification and
company profile. After this, if the applicant is confident they can meet the required standards,
they will be invited to an interview with a member of the management team and then have their
application vetted. Staff commence their initial involvement with the company based on
a telephone reference vetting procedure and a closely monitored probationary period.
Those staff working on more sensitive security duties or with children will undertake an
enhanced CRB check and undergo further vigorous checks regarding their 5-year history.
Only once all the reference requests have received a satisfactory response and the
probationary period has been completed will a formal contract be offered.
