Social activist Anna Hazaretoday said the reservation sys-tem, which was required onlyfor some time afterIndependence, pose a threat tothe country "as political partieshave got involved in it".

"The country faces a threatfrom the reservation system.Reservation was needed only forsome time after Independencebut now political parties havegot involved in it," Hazare toldreporters here.

Hazare also advocatedremoval of poll symbols fromballot papers and EVMs as partpoll reforms.

"I urge the ElectionCommission to remove symbol

(from ballot papers and EVMs)as this is not a Constitutionalarrangement. I am starting thisissue from Sikar," he said.(PTI)
