Ballot papers received from Constituent PSes for the SCOPe elections 2017-19 for Chairman, Vice-Chairman and Members of

the SCOPe executive Board were counted and results were declared on 28th March 2017 in the presence of authorized representatives from PSes and Contestants.

CPSEs Sustaining Growth Trajectory Public enterprises Survey 2015-16, 56th in the series, gives a consolidated picture of the performance of Central Public Sector enterprises (CPSes) which are spread over length and breadth of the country. as on 31st March 2016, there were 320 CPSes (excluding insurance companies) with a total investment of Rs. 11,71,844 crore consisting of 244 operating and 76 under construction CPSes.

Given below are the highlights and macro view of performance of operating CPSEs, Table of Top 10 Profit and Loss Making CPSEs.

H i G H L i G H T S

• Total paid up capital in 320 CPSEs as on 31.3.2016 stood at Rs. 2,28,334 crore as compared to Rs. 2,13,020 crore as on 31.3. 2015 (298 CPSes), showing a growth of 7.19%.

• Total Investment in all CPSEs stood at Rs. 11,71,844 crore as on 31.3.2016 compared to Rs. 10,95,554 crore as on 31.3.2015, recording a growth of 6.96%.

• Capital Employed in all CPSEs stood at Rs. 19,68,311 crore on 31.3.2016 compared to Rs. 18, 66,944 crore as on 31.3.2015 showing a growth of 5.43 %.

• Total turnover/gross revenue from operation of all CPSEs during 2015-16 stood at Rs. 18,54,667 crore compared to Rs. 19, 95,176 crore in the previous year showing a reduction in turnover of 7.04 %.

• Total income of all CPSEs during 2015-16 stood at Rs. 17,64,754 crore compared to Rs. 19, 65,657 crore in 2014-15, showing a reduction in income of 10.22%.

• Profit of profit making CPSEs stood at Rs. 1,44,523 crore during 2015-16 compared to Rs. 1,30,364 crore in 2014-15 showing a growth in profit by 10.86%.

• Loss of loss incurring CPSEs stood at Rs. 28, 756 crore in 2015-16 compared to Rs. 27, 498 crore in 2014-15 showing an increase in loss by 4.57 %.

• Overall net profit of all 244 CPSEs during 2015-16 stood at Rs. 1,15,767 crore compared to Rs. 1,02,866 crore during 2014-15 showing a growth in overall profit of 12.54%.

• Reserves & Surplus of all CPSEs went up from Rs. 7,71,389 crore in 2014-15 to Rs. 7,96,467 cores in 2015-16, showing an increase by 3.25 %.

• Net worth of all CPSEs went up from Rs. 9,84,409 crore in 2014-15 to Rs. 10,20,737 crore in 2015-16 registering a growth of 3.69 %.

• Contribution of CPSEs to Central Exchequer by way of excise duty, customs duty, corporate tax, interest on Central Government loans, dividend and other duties and taxes increased from Rs. 2,00,593 crore in 2014-15 to Rs. 2,78,075 crore in 2015-16, showing a growth of 38.63%.

• Foreign exchange earnings through exports of goods and services decreased from Rs. 1,03,071 crore in 2014-15 to Rs. 77,216 crore in 2015-16, showing a reduction of 25.08%.

• Foreign exchange outgo on imports and royalty, know-how, consultancy, interest and other expenditure decreased from Rs. 5,44,561 crore in 2014-15 to Rs. 3,88,045 crore in 2015-16 showing a reduction of 28.74%.

• CPSEs employed 12.34 lakh people (excluding contractual workers) in 2015-16 compared to 12.91 lakh in 2014-15, showing a reduction in employees by 4.42%.

• Salary and wages went up in all CPSEs from Rs. 1,26,777 crore in 2014-15 to Rs. 1,28,263 crore in 2015-16 showing a growth of 1.17 %.

• Total Market Capitalization (M-Cap) of 46 CPSEs traded on stock exchanges of India is Rs. 11,06,766 crore as on 31.03.2016 as compared to Rs. 13,27,393 crore as on 31.03.2015 showing a reduction of 16.62%.

• M-Cap of CPSEs as per cent of BSE M-Cap decreased from 13.08% as on 31.3.2015 to 11.68% as on 31.3.2016.

BHeL’s state-of-the-art 200 MW Solar Photovoltaic Module

Manufacturing Line and upgraded 105 MW Solar Photovoltaic Cell Manufacturing Line were inaugurated by Union Minister for Heavy industries & Public enterprises, Mr. anant Geete, at the company’s manufacturing plants in Bengaluru recently. Mr. atul Sobti, CMD, BHeL; Directors on the Board of BHeL and other dignitaries were present on the occasion. With the commencement of commercial operation of these lines, the annual manufacturing capacity of BHeL has been enhanced to 105 MW of Solar Cells and 226 MW of Solar Modules.

Khanderi, the second Scorpene submarine being constructed by Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited for the indian Navy, was

launched recently by Dr. Bina Bhamre, Dr. Subhash Bhamre, Raksha Rajya Mantri was the chief guest on the occasion. admiral Sunil Lanba, Chief of the Naval Staff, Mr. arvind Sawant, Member of Parliament, Vadm Girish Luthra, FOC-in-C, WNC and Vadm D M Deshpande, CWP&a were present during the launching ceremony.

The submarine was then towed to Mumbai Port Trust, for separation from the pontoon. Between now and December 2017, Khanderi will undergo rigorous trials and tests, both in harbour and at sea.

Steel authority of india Ltd. (SaiL) supplied steel to iSRO for the launch of a record 104 satellites in a single rocket recently. In this scientific feat SAIL’s Salem Steel Plant (SSP)

played an important part by way of providing high quality stainless steel for the fuel and oxidizer tanks used in the launch vehicle. SaiL SSP had supplied steel for the iconic Chandrayan and Mangalyan missions too.

With this feat of ISRO, India now becomes the first country to script history after launching these record number of satellites in a single rocket. iSRO’s workhorse rocket PSLV created the record today by launching 104 satellites in a single mission from the state-of-the-art space centre at Sriharikota, andhra Pradesh.

The Russian delegation expressed deep satisfaction on GSL’s capability to design and build sophisticated and high value ships and lauded GSL’s efforts in up gradation of the Shipyard to meet the future defence requirements and indicated desire to work in collaboration with GSL for meeting needs of Indian Navy for weapon intensive ships.

putting a target of 18000 during 2016-17, said Mr. Balvinder Kumar, iaS, Secretary Mines while inaugurating Centre of excellence in Skill development on 8th January at Gothapatna in Bhubaneswar.

Dr. Tapan Kumar Chand, CMD of the company said, “at present in mining sector there is shortage of Heavy equipment machine operators (HEMM) and in next three to four years requirement will be around 30000. Nalco will be giving training for such critical category to meet the shortage for which high end training equipments like simulators will be used.” Secretary Mines also dedicated Nalco’s 50kw rooftop solar power system at Nalco Research Technology Centre (NRTC). Among others, Nalco’s directors and senior officials were present on the occasion.

NRL awarded for effective implementation of Official

Language Policy

NRL was presented the Chal Vaijayanti Shield(First Prize) for the second consecutive year for effective implementation of the

Official Language policy of Govt. of India during the year 2015-16. In addition, NRL Hindi Magazine Prayas was awarded the first prize among Hindi magazines published by TOLIC ( Town and Official Language implementation Committee) PSU members during the year 2016.

The above two awards were presented to the NRL Team led by Sr. GM(HR)-Mr. a.K Bhattacharya by Chairman TOLiC and eD iOCL Guwahati Refinery- Mr. J. Borpujari in presence of Head of Regional Implementation Office (NER), Department of Official Language at the TOLIC Meeting held in IOCL Guwahati Refinery recently.

Hindustan aeronautics Limited (HaL) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Central Public Works Department

(CPWD) for execution of infrastructure development works at HaL’s new Greenfield helicopter facility at Tumakuru. The MoU was signed at a programme held as part of aero india 2017 in Bengaluru recently.

Under this collaboration, HaL and CPWD are set to execute stage 1 construction. Mr. T Suvarna Raju, CMD, HaL, Mr. Narendra Kumar, additional Director General, CPWD, Mr .V Natarajan, General Manager, Helicopter Division, HAL and other senior officers were present on the occasion.

signed between NBCC (india) Ltd., indian Navy and NBCC Services Ltd. (NSL) - a Wholly Owned Subsidiary of NBCC (india) Ltd., recently, for construction of Sahara Widows Hostel at Vasant Kunj, New Delhi for indian Navy under CSR initiative of NBCC. The MoU was signed by Mr. Sanjay Nirmal, Commodore indian Navy, Mr. R Wanchoo, CGM(CSR), NBCC(India) Ltd. and Ms. A Sabeena, Chief Executive Officer, NBCC Services Ltd. on behalf of their respective Companies. The cost of the project, to be implemented by NSL, is approx. Rs. 13.50 cr. and will be shared by NBCC (India) Ltd. and Indian Navy equally.
