Social media presence is an important tool in the modern changing

world. Through my introduction to the new media via Gloco13, I am

keen to develop my online persona as a reflection of my thoughts

and creativity.

As long as I have known myself, I have wanted to be known for my

creativity and my engaging thoughts. Being a slight introvert,

presenting myself as an engaging individual at times seems difficult.

Through my online persona, I intend to break free of my inhibitions

and express myself freely. I want to ensure, I rediscover myself

through the process of creating my online reflections.

I aspire to be a blogger and this opportunity is a blessing in disguise.

The process of creating my online identity and my aspirations will help me hone my skills and contribute to my knowledge about the

media. When one would glimpse at my online profile, I hope to give them an insight into my true self through my regular blogs and

tweets. I want to build a collection of my writing pieces which helps

capture my essence and preserve in the world of social media for

years to come.

I am an aspiring writer and blogger learning the ropes of social media as a

platform to build and realise my dreams. I enrolled as a master’s student at

RMIT to learn different ways to enhance my capabilities. I identify myself

as a creative person and want to be able to deliver a new way of

expressing myself to my peers and clients.

Ever since I have been learning about social media, I have begun to realize

the importance of developing my online personality. Since creativity is the

base that my aspirations are built on, I have realized that I do possess the

skills to show insight and bring to life peoples thought through my ideas.

I am passionate about my interests and enjoy indulging in them in my free

time and pursue a career in them. I enjoy and love what I do and cannot

imagine a different life.

Vimeo is a social platform which is very similar to

YouTube as it is a popular platform for sharing videos.

The key objective of the platform is to help filmmakers

present their short films and videos to people who

appreciate creativity and are a real enthusiast which

gives the platform a more qualitative approach.

The community for Vimeo is more refined and selective

as compared to YouTube. The audience you would

reach out to would be smaller but would actually be

interested in the idea and the concept of the video or

short film instead of seeking temporary entertainment.

The user of Vimeo presents their work in the most

professional manner and the best quality. They would be

presenting their work without monetizing it with ads and

pop ups which would take away from the purpose of

showcasing talent.
