FIX-R - the dedicated brand of flat roofing products from SIG Roofing - has championed a

series of demonstration and knowledge days specifically for flat roofs. Designed to help raise

awareness of new products and build confidence in flat roofing amongst contractors and

general builders, the live demonstrations will run regularly at selected training venues across

the UK.

Spanning over the course of a morning, the demonstrations will cover everything that a

contractor needs to know when approaching flat roof installations for either new build or

refurbishment projects. They will take place across a range of the popular FIX-R products

including; liquid waterproofing, EPDM, Torch on Felts and Roof Repair Solutions. Other flat

roofing products such as GRP waterproofing, paints, pour and roll felts, asphalt, single ply,

green roofs and insulation will also be covered.

Says SIG Roofing’s Category Manager for Flat Roofing, Richard Parker: “Over the years,

continuous changes in legislation, customer requirements and new technology have led to

an increasing number of waterproofing solutions being available to the contractor.

“With so many options on the market, it is important that contractors understand the features

of different products and the suitability to solve the variety of roofing issues that the

contractor is likely to face. Crazy extended warranties on flat roofing products only serve to

confuse matters further, particularly when the manufacturer goes out of business,” adds

The demonstration and knowledge days will also compare differing waterproofing techniques

and products in order that the contractor can make the right choice for the project, based on

cost, skill level, expertise and even the tools required.

Richard continues: “When it comes to flat roof installations, there is a lucrative market out

there for repair, replacement or new build. For those contractors that want to gain the

necessary skills, knowledge and experience to tap into this market, help is now at hand.

“We recognise that time is money, and that’s why our demonstrations only last a couple of

hours and are available free of charge, with no pressure to purchase products. They are also

designed to fit in around the contractor’s busy schedule, and by staging them at our UK wide

training centres, they don’t need to go out of their way to attend,” concludes Richard.
