Lowe’shasaProductLocatorsystemwhich is integrated into theOn-Demandpricingsystem.Oneof themostobviousnewfeaturesofthesystemistheintroductionoftheaislenumberintotheproductlocationlogic.Bygivingourcustomersnot only the bay and shelf location but also informing themof the appropriate aisle, Lowe’s has eliminated confusion incategorieswheredisplaysareeitherinthecutbackareasofadepartment,orcaseswherestockproductmustbehousedonaseparateaisle fromthedisplay. Extensiveresearchwasconductedonthissystemand, inconjunctionwithLowe’s-providedexplanatorysignageandthelocatormarkersigns,ourstorepersonnelandcustomersratedournewsystemeasiertousebecauseitstepsyoumorelogicallythroughtheprocessoffindingthetake-withproduct.

Properuseof theProductLocator system isessential so thatour customerscaneasily navigateeachdepartment. Thesystemalsosavesoperationallyinthestores,eliminatingtheextratimerequiredtousetheoldhandwrittenproductlocators.Thisoperationaladvantagefreesupouremployeestobetterserviceourcustomersandfocuseffortsonourcorebusiness.However,itisimperativetheProductLocatorsystemnotbeoverused.

Note: Product locators should only be used when the take-with product is located away from the display. When take-with items either have no corresponding display, or are located directly below or adjacent to their display, product locators are not necessary.

All vendors must use the Lowe’s Product Locator System, which is integrated into the On-Demand Price Label System, in lieu of a proprietary “easy find” system.

ProductLocationOnlyLabelswillbeusedinplaceswheredisplaysareuphighandmakepricechangesasafetyissue.Sincethepriceisnotonthelabel,theselabelswillonlybefeasibleinareaswherethetake-withstockisintheimmediateareaofthedisplayandthelabelistheprimarymeansofcommunicatingpricetothecustomer.Inthesecasesastandardoron-demandpricinglabelwithproductlocatorshouldbeused.ProductLocationonlylabelsarecontrolledonanitem-specificbasisatLowe’sCorporate.ContactthePoint-of-SaleSpecialistformoreinformation(704757-SIGN).

TheOn-DemandProductLocatorsystemhaseliminatedtheneedforproprietary,easy-findsystemsthatvendorshavedevelopedovertime.Manytimestheseeasy-findsystemsare integratedintotheproductpackagingaswell.Forthisreason, we have instructed our store personnel to not locate product using the On-Demand System if this type ofproprietary system is in use. However, as Lowe’s vendors undergo line review, and when new programs are beingdeveloped, these proprietary systems must be eliminated and the On-Demand Product Locator system should beutilized.

As you can see in these photos, the air purifier set positions the display directly above the take-with product. In this example product location is not necessary.

POP | Literature Holder

A 3”x1” white stock re-order label is required on every literature holder so as the item is depleted, a store associate can correctly identify the literature piece and the contact responsible for replenishment. This label should be included every time materials are sent to a store, not just the first time. There should be one label included with each package of bro-chures/tearpads. Brochures should be placed in a VSG approved holder and tearpads should use the VSG approved tearpad holders, both can be found in the display section.
