The leadership of DCI tanks is based on exceptional craftsmanship and superior structural features.

The Inner Liner in all DCI silo tanks is top grade stainless steel.

Bottom Heads and all inner seams are butt-welded. The interior of bottom head has 3/4 inch per foot drainage pitch. Top Heads are of deep dish design.

Optional Heating/Cooling SurfaceDCI’s dimple jacketing or laser-welded heat transfer surface achieves maximum, uniform heating or cooling. The basic principle is the controlled turbulent flow of media at high velocity. Construction is all stainless steel (special alloys available) with stainless inlet and outlet pipe headers. ASME and CRN testing and registration available. Custom designed for unique flow rates and pressure drops.

Fully Insulated Tank has 3” insulation selected for its compressive strength and insulating value. It is applied with extreme care. The tank is designed and insulated to allow for expansion and contraction of the inner liner due to extreme temperature changes. The openings on the top head are designed to allow for expansion and contraction as well.

The base is designed for mounting on flat slab, steal beam supports at ground or elevated level, or on load cells. The Outer Bottoms of DCI silos are built super strong to maintain the unit’s stability permanently under heavy load and stress. Heavy steel members unitize with the out wall forming a bridge-like support for level mounting.

Outer Jackets of heavy mild steel are solidly welded into a “unitized” structure. Stainless steel or custom painted out jackets available.

Exterior Coatings - Red Spencer-Dry Rust-Inhibitive Oil Alkyd Primer can be recoated with other finishes. Window of topcoat application is open. High Performance Urethane Paint is high performance, gloss finish. Available in white and a range of colors.

Interior Alcoves of DCI silo tanks are designed and fabricated for maximum efficiency in operation and sanitation. The curved backwall allows for the ultimate in accessibility and cleanability. The double hinged manhole is designed with a flat sealing manhole gasket for Ease In Alignment during closing. The entire alcove is stainless steel and welded to the silo’s outer wall. Each alcove is custom fitted with accessories, controls and instrumentation as desired.

Standard Alcoves are 60” x 60” x 18” overall, with a 16” x 20” insulated in-out swing manhole door with sample-cock and solid neoprene gaskets. Outlet is heavy wall conical-pod type.

Insulation, special sizes and provisions for field welded alcoves are available as an option.

Horizontal Mechanical Agitation Systems for DCI tanks is available in gear-head-driven types. Both types have a hollow-shaft agitator coupling with removabl sanitary seal and are designed for ease in maintenance. Three-blade agitators are designed to most effectively match product and meet or exceed 3A requirements.

Vertical Agitators are designed to eliminate any take apart couplings or assemblies in the product zone. Various types of agitator assemblies are available and selected according to process requirements.

Optional Accessories include a variety of components; refrigerated wall, level indicators, ladders, safety-rails, catwalks, CIP fixtures, manhole baffles and a manifold interlock to prevent cleaning with the manhole door closed.

Capacities and Dimensions of Silo Tanks

Alcoves on standard tanks are 18” in depth for installation in 8” to 12” wall. Non-standard alcove depths are available.

Crane Lift-Eyes are welded to the top head of each tank for safe hoisting during erection on site.

DCI tanks are equipped for CIP-Vent Systems. CIP lines are assembled to tanks as standard.
