Mr. Indranil Gupta ; Principal of Silver Oak International School was interviewed by Konverv which is India's leading ed-tech company with presence in Australia, New Zealand, the UK and the USA. Here are some excerpts from the interview :
Question- What have been the main principles that you have tried to inculcate in your students?
Answer- I would, first of all, love to keep it very simple- a joyful and
secure environment for all my UNIQUE TALENTS within a Principle centred Academic Management System. I try to inculcate self-discipline within them. I prepare them to be response able in order to become responsible. Education should always promote holistic development of children which takes into account their IQ,EQ, SQ ,PQ & XQ. We need to encourage our students in how to think and not what to think. Think Globally & Act Locally will be the mantra.
Question- What is your stance on discipline?
Answer- In the life of a student, one of the very important qualities is discipline; again it can be of many types like Boundary based Discipline, Emotion Coaching, Gentle Discipline, Positive Discipline etc. Discipline is basically the missing link between the goals and accomplishments. It has to be gained through order and objectives , need to be reasoned out with rationality and then followed.
Question- What do you think about the new technological trends in education and how do you plan to leverage it in your school?
Answer- Technology is a wonderful thing that has happened to Education. We will have to embrace it with both arms without neglecting the human aspect of education. Cloud computing, MOOC, Blended Learning, BYOD, Gaming, Robotics & Artificial Intelligence, Mobile Apps, Internet connectivity, Social Medias, Use of videos for classwork & homework, Flip classes etc. & their inter ference & integration in the field of Education is a Technological Revolution which we need to tackle sensibly & carefully.
The vision and framework designed and targeted by our
Principal Mr. Indranil Gupta in our first newsletter has been
serving as a blueprint to help school personnel improve
their understanding and practices in providing education
for holistic development of students in a more systematic
and focused way. There are still challenges to be
overcome, improvements to be made, barriers to be
crossed and future targets to be shot which we aspire to do
with optimum contentment of the parents at the earliest.
The school doors are open ; the goals for the new school
year are set. Looking forward for your Co-operation which
will work as a fuel to ignite our efforts.

How Busy is My Schedule
Teachers are the moving lamps of knowledge
They guide us, teach us in school & college
They are quite humble & polite
They make our future bright
With all positive features,
God makes our great teachers.
-Nikunj Jindal, Class-4th A
Waking up, bathing, eating & drinking
Then getting ready for a lovely school
Books, Notebooks, Bags & Satchel
All day hectic, no time to stay cool

The Art of Living
You are a pearl, make this world your
oyster. Anybody and everybody can
e x i s t bu t mak ing your l i f e a
masterpiece is to live. Not everyone is
destined to blaze a trail or win each
day. But we all can leave a deep
impression on those around us, try to
give a little and share a little. It is great
thing to make one's mark in the world
but to leave a mark in the minds of
others is the greatest achievement.
We can brighten ourselves and
spread sunshine. To gladden a tired
human heart and bring a smile on
withered lips is the greatest joy. Joy
is very different from fun and
amusement. It is something that comes
from deep within and gives a warm
glow to the world.
If you want to accept someone,
accept that person with all his failings
and faults. But to accept others, first;
one must learn to live with one's own
faults. We must be open to admit our
flaws and try our best to rectify them.
Self acceptance is the key to success and
real joy. So we must live and not merely
exist.
Smile in sorrow, smile in pain
Smile when troubles pour like rain.
Smile when someone hurts your feelings
For smiles, as you know, help in healing.
