The Silverene Towers, located at the water’s edge of the Dubai Marina, rise 35 storeys high and have a total floor area of 108,174 m 2 . The project consisted of construction and completion of the two residential towers, with three basement levels, ground floors, and two podium levels (including mezzanines), with 32 floors of residential space in Tower A and 24 floors in Tower B. This AED 638 million residential project was built in the Dubai Marina, opposite the water’s edge in one of the marina’s best locations, being within easy walking distance of the Dubai Marina Mall, Al Majara Community and Dubai Marina Yacht Club. CCL was appointed by Arabtec to provide a post- tensioning design for the slabs, which span 8.5 m as an average in the podium area and more than 10 m in the tower area. CCL post-tensioning solutions provided the desired reduced slab thickness, without any drop beams, allowing a reduction in the concrete quantity, easy scaffolding on site and accelerated construction. Adding pour strips in basement floors provided five different working areas and at the same time allowed a fast construction sequence of the project, ensuring that the works would be completed to the design requirements and within budget.
