Sewing Stacks of Coins

• Sew three columns of coins in groups of 26 Simple Curves pieces.

• Stitch with exact ¼̎ seams.• I suggest you lay out the various Simple

Curves pieces on a design wall to get the best arrangement.

• Pressthecoinsingroupsofaboutfivepieces for best results. Press seam allowanes toward the top of the column.

nMatch the

ends

• Sew a football piece to an end piece.

• Stitch with exact ¼̎ seams. • Repeat for three units.Note: I suggest you experiment with using the wrong side of the fabric for the football shape. If you look closely that is what gives the stack of coins a three dimensional look.• Sew end units to the

bottom of the stack of coins.

Sewing The Bottom Piece

• Sew the other end pieces to the bottom of the stack of coins.

Adding The Lattice

• Measure each stack of coins with the top and bottom pieces added.

• Determine the average length.

• Re-cut the lattice and bor der strips to thisexact measurement.

• Sew the 3" wide lattice piece to the right sides of two of the stacks of coins.

• Sew the border to the third stack of coins.

• Sew the last border to thefirststackofcoinsonthe left side.

• Sew the strips together to make the quilt top as shown.

Finish your Simple Coins quilt as desired.I chose to quilt in straight lines down the lattice and border strips.
