*Notes on entering dates

There are two ways to enter dates in SIMS .Net: Type them in, or use the

calendar. If you are entering a date close to today, it’s quicker to use the calendar. Otherwise, it’s usually quicker to type them in.

Using the Calendar

Typing dates in

Simply click in the white box and enter the date. SIMS is very good at working out what you mean, so long as what you put in is unambiguous. It doesn’t

really care about leading zeros or what you use as a separator (I use space because it’s a bigger target than .) It would recognise, for example:

7 7 7

7 july 7 07072007

07.07.07

7/7/07

But not, for example, 11101

(do you mean 1st November 2001 or 11th January 2001)

1. Click on the

calendar icon

2. Double click on the

date you need (today’s date will be highlighted, but to select it you

need to double click it)

The arrows

move a month at a time

Click on the

month to select a month quickly

Click on the

year to select a year quickly
