Automatic hydraulic laboratory presses intwo- and four-post models up to 48 ton clamp capacity

Carver has incorporated over 100 years experience in laboratory presses into their auto-matic electrically powered benchtop presses for today’s labs. Each Auto Series Plus press has a built-in hydraulic system with a control system for accurate programmable operation. A variety of models are available ranging in clamp force capacity from 15 to 48 tons and work areas ranging from 6( x 6( to 18( x 18(. Press models include two- or four-column, pelletizing, heated, unheated and cooled configurations. All presses have integral safety enclosures with a clear front door for operator safety and observation. AutoPak power units are available for existing manual presses (see page 16).

These new presses feature a 7( color operator interface, enhanced platen temperature control with auto-tuning, ramp heating capability, and real-time trending of force and temperature. Another enhancement includes stor-age of up to 250 recipes with recipe preview. Optional features include data logging for cycle parameters and a seven day timer for auto platen heat-up.Auto Series Plus press models are available with 15 to 48 tons of clamping force and 6( x 6( to 18( x 18( platens. Carver’s Monarch laboratory presses with integral hydraulic system and high technology options are based on stan-dard production press models adapted to precision laboratory requirements.Recommended for testing or research, compacting, molding rubber or plastic, laminating and assembly where strip-ping force is required.Standard features include double-acting JIC style cylinder for power open and power close. An integral hydraulic reservoir is easily accessible for clean-ing and includes a strainer or cartridge filter, air filter/breather, oil level indica-tor and oil cooler. A programmable con-troller with access module is standard.Optional equipment includes electri-cally heated platens to 500°, 650°, 800° or 1200°F, with digital tempera-ture controllers, low pressure system, pressing speed control and automatic platen cooling.

Carver has developed three presses which are specially configured to perform the compression molding of test plaque or bar specimens of Type I, II, III or IV polyethylene and other thermoplastic resins. The procedure is in conformance with ASTM Method D 4703, Procedure C. Carver Inc. is proud to introduce Models CMG28-12-PCR & CMG40-12-PCR Proppant Crush Test Presses. These Monarch Series presses meet the critical demands of ISO 13503-2:2006 with unsurpassed cycle repeatability. The propor-tional hydraulic system is capable of applying a constant rate of 13.8 MPa/min. (2000 PSI min.) from 2 ton to 28 ton clamp force within a %2.5% deviation. The operator interface allows easy setup of press control parameters and includes ample recipe storage.

Tile Mold

Carver Inc. warrants all equipment we manufacture to be free from defects in workmanship and material when used under recommended conditions. The Company’s obligation under this warranty is limited to those parts which within twelve (12) months from delivery of equipment to original purchaser are returned to the factory with transportation prepaid, and upon examination shall disclose them to be defective. Genesis Series presses are state-of-the-art hydraulic presses for compression molding of rubber, plastics and composites; and for laminating and bonding or a pressure application where positive ram control is needed. The Genesis Series refl ects more than a half a century of WABASH leadership in hydraulic press design and construc tion. It is rugged enough for round-the-clock performance on the production fl oor, but works equally well as a precision laboratory press.

Genesis presses are available in 15 through 150 ton capacities. The hydraulic system produces faster closing and opening speeds, making it ideal for use with many of today’s advanced molding compounds. Optional heated platens are available for 500°F, 650°F, 800°F, 1200°F and 1800°F operating temperatures, which are required for many composite, ceramic and other molding applications, including superplastic molding of titanium.

Genesis Press for Polyethylene Sample Preparation

The Genesis Series Hydraulic Compression Press, Model G30H-12-ASTM, is specially designed to process test plaques for use by material suppliers, processors and some molders for use in their quality labs. This press is used to prepare plaques for property testing in accordance with ASTM specification #D4703.

The distinguishing feature of the Wabash Model G30H-12-ASTM Press is it’s ability to control the cooling rate of the platens in accordance with the ASTM D4703 Specifications.

Self-contained hydraulic sys-tem includes an efficient loadsensing, variable volume, pres-sure complensated pump,dydrualic oil reservoir with sightgauge, thermometer and aclean-out door.

Standard Features

A 3-inch NPT port for vacuum sourceconnection is standard. You have theoption of an integral, built-in vacuumsystem consisting of an air cooled,rotary vane vacuum pump sized toyour specific requirement.

Alternatively, you can choose the free-standing rapid draw-down vacuumsystem which can be used to operatemore than one machine at a time. Avacuum is held in the tank betweencycles, ready to quickly evacuate thechanger of the next machine when itreaches the proper point in its cycle.

Custom presses and larger machinesare available. Press shown is a 400 tondown acting Vantage press with36" x 32" heating platens. It isequipped with automatic hydraulicallyoperated chamber doors and a lowerplaten shuttle for quick loading andunloading. A remote vacuum systemevacuates the chamber duringoperation.

Multiple Openings for LaminatingVantage Series Vacuum Presses are available withmultiple daylight openings for laminating applications,such as multi-layer printed circuit boards, flexiblecircuit boards and LCDs. Platens operate at the sametemperature, and can be cooled, if required.

DataTrend® Computer-based Control SystemThe DataTrend package is a self-contained computercapable of programming all press functions and datagathering needs. Integrate your presses for CIM, plantautomation and/or SPC. Choose the CPU, RAM capacityand hard drive capacity to fit your application. Includes14" VGA monitor, 1 parallel and 2 serial ports and external3.5" diskette drive. Graphically portrays programmedand actual operating parameter, including temperatureand pressure.

Optional Control SystemsAdd user-friendly controls as needed. Among theoptions available are: Through-the-door circuit breaker,low pressure system, linear control of clamp positionand clamping speeds. A programmable controller forramping of temperatures and pressure cycles is alsoavailable. This can be used to program any number ofautomatic bumps ("breathes") with preset dwell timesbefore, between and after, as required.

Platen Heater MonitoringIndividual ammeters for each heating zone can beprovided. Options also include additional heatingzones in plates, as well as mold heaters.

Multiple Daylight OpeningsAdditional daylight openings can be provided for imporvedproductivity. More than one mold can be processed percycle, even at different cure temperatures. Otherproductivity improvement options include shuttles, worktables , and automated loading and unloading systems.

Automatic DoorsOptional automatic hydraulically operated doors canbe specified for the front and/or back. This saves timeand space, while improving productivity.
