• Singapore is a city-state, with 63 islands .

• The main island is calledPulau Ujong which isthe main city.

• Urban planning, is a profession that works to improve thewelfare of people and their communities .

• Most of his green spaces are man made.

• Singapore is a megacity, it has 4.200.000 inhabitants.

• In Singapore beautification is very important.

• It was part of the Malaysian Federation until 1965.

• Singapore has became so rich as consecuent of a crisis, which made thecountry invest in construction.

• The firts years of its indepent it was veryprosperous. In 80s the buildings continuegrowing while the unemploymentdecreases. In this decade it also invest in tecnologie advantages.

• The International Singapore was open and increases the turism and the marketeconomy.

• In the XXI century Singapore experience a crisis, but it recover from it.

• Nowadays Singapore is one of the mostrich cities in the world.

The enviromental issues• Pollution

– Air pollution: It emit tons of carbon dioxide, in 1996, was the first in the ranking of the world.

– Reduceing the pig´s farms.

– Water pollution: Industrial facilities such as oilpolluted the water.

– Affected water is taken for treatment at specialised centres.– They have clean the water in the Singapore River which was

polluted.

• Urbanisation– Deforestation: Singapore has lost approximately

90% of its natural forests.– Create many green spaces.
