SQ 006 Flight History• Scheduled flight from Singapore Changi

Airport to Los Angeles International Airport via Chiang Kai-Shek Airport in Taiwan.

• On October 31, 2000, 23:17 local time, Singapore Airlines flight 006 took off from the wrong runway.

• The aircraft impacted with the ground equipment on the closed runway. The impact destroyed the aircraft and killed 83 of the 179 occupants.

• SQ006 was the first fatal crash of a Singapore Airlines aircraft.
