Singapore River Regatta 2011The Start Process
Hold Tail StartMake sure you backed-down your Boats exactly to the location of the Lane Numbers
Aligners will then be hold onto the dragon boat tail
Getting into PositionSteersperson to approach the pontoonby Reversing (back-paddle) into the pontoon according to the allocated racing lane number
Steersperson may choose to keep rudderin the water.

1. HOLD YOUR BOATWarning of impending start
2. ARE YOU READYPaddles up!
3. ATTENTIONAligner releases tail
4. AIR HORNGo! Begin paddling
1a. When instructed to report for your race, submit the
Crew List to the Chief Boat Marshall (CBM). 1b. CBM will keep your Crew List
1c. The Crew List will be use throughout the event
2a. CBM will then permit you to enter the Crew Check Area. Only Team Manager and racing crew may enter. 2b. For subsequent races (Semi Finals, etc), Teams may re-use the original Crew List submitted.
3. Boat & Crew Marshalls will then check and verify eligibility of the
crew.
4. The CBM will then release crew to the embarkation pontoon

Steerer MUST BE SDBA certified (basic requirement is SDBA Basic Helm)
The Steerer can either be Male or Female, regardless of racing class
For the Tertiary Women Category, entire crew MUST BE SAME GENDER
ALERT! Rule Change as of 1st January 2012: Steerer must be the same gender in the respective Men & Women racing classes, with the
exception of the Mix & Open racing class.(applicable to National Championship, IIBC, IBHC, Tertiary, POL-ITE)
