The Curimbaba Group is a family-owned concern that operates inthe industrial and transportation sectors. With its focus on mineralextraction and transformation activities, the company works mainly inthe markets for refractories and steelmaking, agrochemical products,ceramics, refractory mortar, bleaching of oil, solder for welding, friction,casting, chemical grade bauxite, treatment of surfaces, microgranules,�oor paving, proppants, abrasives.The Curimbaba Group was founded in 1961, by the creation of theMineração Curimbaba. It currently comprises twelve companies,located in Brazil, United States, and South Africa.

COMPANY HISTORY

Sintex North America was established in Houston, Texas in 1992 as thesole distributor of Curimbaba Proppants. The Curimbaba Group distributesproppant worldwide through Sintex International, established in 2002, andin Brazil and Argentina as Curimbaba Proppants.

The Mineração Curimbaba laboratories are equipped to perform testing in compliance with and exceeding the standard ISO 13503-2 guidelines �Measurement of properties of proppants used in hydraulic fracturing��. The modern laboratory instruments and equipment used to comply with this standard include analytical balances, microscopes, moisture analyses, sieve analysis, fully computerized X-ray �uorescence (XRF), X-ray di�raction (XRD) for quantitative mineralogical analysis, helium pycnometer, conductivity cells and permeability analysis, automatic crushing (compression) strength tests, sphericity, roundness, turbity and computer assisted design and monitoring. The resultant databases add value to research and development projects and contributes to continuous improvement of the product lines. Mineração Curimbaba develops a quality management system and is committed to constantly balancing the needs of shareholders, customers, employees, suppliers and society.
