SIS Piemonte and Maths Projects

Trainees of Maths participated to an international summer school called “Quality Class”.

This interesting experience for the Italian students started 7 years ago.

Quality Class is a 10 day exchange program for teacher-students.

During Quality Class people from different countries, different cultures and different opinions about mathematics education meet.

Part of the program is a visit to an international conference on the didactics of mathematics education.

The program is made for students attending teacher training colleges

Members of Quality Class are different every year.

The aims for Quality Class participants are to:

• learn to work in a multicultural environment.

• learn how to find your way in an international

conference. This includes making choices,

collaborating and presenting in a foreign

language.

• experience being a member of an international

team.

• discover and develop knowledge about teaching

mathematics and be aware of what educational

research can bring you in connection with

personal experiences i.e. in the classroom.

Methodology

• Activity in small groups• Mathematical discussion • Social sharing of the knowledge
