A. The Design View allows you to easily add, edit, and format text and images as well as add hyper-links to your website to give it a customized personality all its own without needing to have prior knowledge of HTML. Preview allows you to view the final HTML as it will look on your website. The Design View does not give a completely accurate repre-sentation of what the finalized ver-sion will look like. It is helpful, sometimes, to switch back and forth between the two views. In Source View you can create anything you want without being limited to the basic tools offered in the Design View. If you are an ad-vanced user and familiar with HTML, you will be able to set your website apart form the rest.

B. The Image Library is a collection of images for you to use on your website. Here you can upload any type of internet-ready graphic or choose from your company sup-plied collection of images. The Im-age Library is composed of three sections, click below to find out more.

C. The Tools Area provides you with icons and functions like those found in using Microsoft Word or other document creating products.

6 Search Engines: Your website can be setup for search en-gine “readiness”

based on your knowledge and experience with Search Engines. Or you can hire an expert to manage this for you. A. Indexing: turning on spe-

cial pages within your website for the search engine “spiders” to seek and take back with them to the search engine: Google, Yahoo, Live etc. Each page has to have “special” wording, meta tags, keywords, descrip-tion for any ranking on the search engine.

B. Meta Tags: Each page that is indexed has to have all the information available to be searched on by the spiders. This is the area you do that in.

C. Submissions: You can submit your website do-main name and all of the pages you have indexed to the search engine world directly from here. This is a FREE process however we are not re-sponsible for the submis-sion site.

Search Engines are

NOT a quick and easy study.

The Technology Staff does not man-age this for an office or individual agent.

Technology Program Listing Tool Creating Links to Internal Pages in your Agent Website

Learn the steps to creating links to internal pages within your agent website.

Page 14: Site Builder Intermediate Training 2 - Real Estate web site

Page 14 7/22/2008

1 Linking to Internal Pages of your Agent Website: You can create links for con-

sumers to use to access an internal page within your agent website. Or you can purchase a domain name to forward directly to an inter-nal page of your website. You must do more than just copy and paste the URL. You have to add your ac-count ID. This is your unique identifying code for your website. A. Find your Account ID:

Go to your home page and write down the part of the URL that comes after the question mark “?” For this example it is acc=101561

B. Navigate to the Internal Page: Go to your web-site and click on one of the tabs at the top to ac-cess an internal page

C. Choose the Internal Page: For instruction purposes, we are choos-ing the internal page ti-tled “My Professional Profile”

C

Page 15 7/22/2008

C reate the Link: To send a consumer directly to my pro-fessional profile lo-

cated in my website I will copy and paste the link in the URL and then add &acc=101561 A. Get the URL: Once on

the page in your website that you want to create a direct link to, copy the URL from the address bar.

B. Add the Account ID: Add the account ID to the end of the URL. This is the URL you will use to link to access an internal page or to for-ward a domain name to. Example: Send clients directly to your personal profile page with a do-main name like www.abouttraci.com. Copy the link and add your account ID, then point your domain name to access that in-ternal page. This can be done with any internal page of your agent web-site.

C. Why you need the Ac-count ID: Without this account ID, the con-sumer will receive an error message and will not be able to access the internal page.

Copy this Link

Be sure to add this to the end of the URL: &acc=101561 (be sure to use your account ID) Example of completed link:

http://tracim.remax-alabama.com/remaxal/modules/agent/agent.asp?p=professionalprofile.asp&acc=101561 NOTE: Your account number will be different. This number is for instructional purposes

only.
