Tradition: by Manon Berthon In “La Compôte”, a traditional
house with its wooden balcony. The wood is naturally twisted, you can find it alongside the rivers. These
balconies were used to dry wood for winter.

Bright colours evoke joy, satisfaction with our festivities.
Wheat, flowers and bananas recall out roots, country people proud of
their land. And that is why we should preserve our cultural heritage, our traditions, which have passed from generation
to generation, helping us to remember our origins.

This photograph was taken on the day of Corpus Christi in 2012. In it, we can appreciate the master
putting the finishing touches to the flower-and-sand carpet. With this photograph I would like to
emphasize the beauty of the old ways.

“Railway Bridge on the Panaro River” by Matteo Gozzoli (Italy)
“I took this picture because I love the autumn trees reflecting their bright leaves in the water of the Panaro River and the railway bridge in the background.. I often walk along the river think about the people who walked along this same river thousands of years ago...
I can sense the river has a lot of stories to tell”
