Your home for this guided journey is a special villa in the center of Vence, in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region in southeastern France. Your journey through the six senses takes place in and around Vence, a town on the French Riviera set in the hills of the Alpes Maritimes in the southeast corner of France, near the border with Italy, on the Mediterranean coast, between Nice and Antibes. You enjoy gentle hikes in the hills and forests; indulge in the delicious local foods, cheeses, seafood, and wine; visit the world's capital of perfume, in Grasse; explore famous art galleries and basically remind yourself how beautiful and alive you can feel when living life paying attention to its simple pleasures.

AU SOULEU

Provençal for “Au Soleil” - Let’s Go to the Sun - Au Souleu is a special Provençal villa in the center of Vence, only a 4 minute walk from the historical center. The villa was designed in 1936 by Arthur Teisseire, a well-known architect in Vence. In the center of Vence center is a quartier by the name of “A. Teisseire” and the main parking area is named after his wife Marie-Antoinette. Arthur was the grandfather of Vincent Teisseire who now lives with his family at Au Souleu. His wife Hanneke will be your co-host during the retreat.

When you are ready to book your retreat, you will choose among the available rooms at the villa, each having its own flavor and character. Au Souleu has a large garden, a real piece of paradise in the center of Vence. In the back garden is a small, nicely designed swimming pool. Breakfasts and some of our lunches and dinners are prepared in the spacious kitchen of the villa.

Saturday, 11 May - Arrival Welcome to the Côte d’Azur! Upon arrival at Nice International Airport you will be met by a member from our team who will drive you to Au Souleu, a historical villa located in Vence, in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region of France. You will drive along the seaside of Cagnes-sur-Mer and in the distance, you will see the sweet town of Antibes. You will turn north and head slightly inland to reach Vence, built against the baoux de blanc (pre-Alps). Behind the four baoux is the beginning of the French Alps. The drive is about 25 minutes. Upon arrival at the villa, we will begin the retreat with an opening ceremony and share our first meal together.

Sunday, 12 May - Seeing Your day begins with a morning meditation and yoga session. During breakfast together, we discuss the first sense ‘Seeing’ and you learn about the importance of ‘consuming’ beautiful images and what it means to really “see”. On this relaxing Sunday, we take in the sights around Vence, walk to see the stunning vistas, and enjoy a picnic lunch and late afternoon yoga overlooking Vence and the coastline. Dinner is a home-cooked meal at the villa.

Monday, 13 May - Tasting After morning meditation and yoga, we discuss the sense of ‘Taste’ over a light breakfast and the concept of “food as medicine”. Later in the morning, Dr. Tanya teaches a cooking class including how to design meals, shop with ease and cook delicious AND healthy meals in the European-Ayurvedic tradition. Lunch is the meal we prepared together in class. After lunch, we visit a local winery to enjoy a French wine tasting. In the evening, you are on your own to explore the quaint town of Vence and eat in one of its local restaurants.

Tuesday, 14 May - Hearing During morning meditation and yoga, we focus on the sense of ‘Hearing’ and learn about mantra-based primordial sound healing techniques and chakra toning. Over breakfast, we discuss the importance of taking in nourishing sounds - sounds of nature, music, mantras, chakra sounds. After breakfast, we walk around the Cap d’Antibes to enjoy the sounds of the sea. After a picnic lunch, you are free to explore the afternoon in Antibes. In the evening we will dine together and enjoy the sounds of local musicians.

Wednesday, 15 May - Smell After morning meditation and yoga, we discuss the sense of ‘Smell’ over breakfast and how aromas can trigger the healing power within us. We then travel to the world’s capital of perfume - Grasse. Home to three world-famous perfumeries — Fragonard, Galimard, and Molinard — and surrounded by fields of lavender, rose, and jasmine, Grasse is a hilltop medieval town just north of Cannes. In Grasse, we tour a perfumery before heading to Tourettes-sur-Loup for lunch. Known as the ‘violet village’ we enjoy an amazing lunch together at a local restaurant before you are free to explore the town in the afternoon. There is an option to walk back to Vence or travel by vehicle. Dinner is on your own back in Vence.

Thursday, 16 May - Touch After morning meditation and yoga, we discuss the sense of ‘Touch’ over breakfast and recognize the skin as a portal to the inner pharmacy of healing chemicals in the body. A massage therapist will come to the villa today and you will receive a full-body massage. Lunch is at a local vegetarian café in Vence. There is time today to relax at the villa and enjoy time to yourself. Dinner cooked by a local chef is at Au Souleu.

Friday, 17 May - Intuition Today, after morning meditation and yoga, we talk about the ‘sixth sense’ of ‘Intuition’. What is it and how do you cultivate it? As artists seem to have that ‘6th Sense’ we head to the artists’ village of St Paul de Vence. On our walk through the forest to the village, we stop for a picnic lunch. In the afternoon, you are free to explore the galleries and museums in St Paul de Vence. Our last dinner together will be out on the town.

Saturday, 18 May - Departure Depending on the time of your departing flight or onward journey, morning activities will vary.

Dr. Tanya Pergola is an internationally acclaimed award-winning author, inspirational speaker, community development orchestrator, healing safari guide, and yoga and meditation instructor. For twenty years she has been sharing timeless indigenous wisdom tailored to help individuals with modern day stresses. Her approach to health and well-being encourages true transformation in people and in the communities they touch.

Born in the United States, Tanya holds a PhD in Sociology and Social Psychology. She is a Chopra Certified Vedic Educator, a Certified Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT) and has apprenticed with traditional Maasai healers in East Africa for over ten years. Dr. Tanya’s insight into these ancient wisdom traditions gives her a different perspective when it

comes to applying these methods in modern times. Dr. Tanya holds public and private yoga and meditation classes all over the world. Dr. Tanya is the author of Time is Cows: Timeless Wisdom of the Maasai and the founder of THE PERGOLA METHOD™.
