Choosing the right course

• Choosing your A-level (or equivalent) subjects carefully isreally important – especially if you have aspirations to studyat a leading university.

• The Russell Group’s guide, Informed Choices, includes advicefrom admissions professionals on the best subjectcombinations for a wide range of university courses as wellas the best choices for students who want to keep theiroptions open.

• Some advanced level subjects are more frequently requiredfor entry to degree courses than others. We call thesesubjects ‘facilitating’ because choosing them at advancedlevel leaves open a wide range of options for universitystudy.
