We offer over 25 substantial vocational courses which means every student gets a personal programme tailored to their career. Each individualised course uses specialist off-site training providers and extensive work placements to ensure skills are matched to the workplace. Study at Eggbuckland towards an employability qualification at level 2 or 3 involving fund-raising and community projects to develop transferable skills for the future. In 2015, we had a 100% success rate with every student who completed their course.

Students can also request guidance interviews with a Careers South West Personal Advisor. This dedicated service is in a prime location for Sixth Form students and its ease of access and specialist advice keeps our students fully informed for their next steps.

Sixth Form Progression Passport - 6PPThe overall development of our students is paramount so that they are best prepared for independent life within higher education or employment. Our 6PP is a comprehensive package of activities:

Ÿ Global awareness and issues

Ÿ Study and research skills

Ÿ Involvement in lower school lessons

Ÿ Work placements and external interviews

Developing personal and leadership skills are a vital part of our programme and outside providers such as Plymouth University, Babcock International, Plymouth City Council, Cornwall College and the Armed Forces help us deliver impartial and stimulating guidance to improve employability. All students gain accreditation through the Plymouth Employability Passport which is endorsed by major Plymouth companies in recognition of students gaining the skills needed in the workplace.

Vocational students follow a project based programme with excellent activities for the community which include a MacMillan charity event, a Christmas party for Courtlands School and a social event for our local elderly neighbours.

We are proud that our 6PP programme engages all students and gives them opportunities to extend their experience and improve essential skills for life.

The Link PartnershipOur Link Partnership with St. Boniface's College, Notre Dame, Devonport High School for Boys and Devonport High School for Girls ensures we have a flexible study programme and can adapt our curriculum to the personal needs of each student. Free transport is provided for TLP students and over 100 extra courses allow us to tailor timetables so students can gain the qualifications they need for their career.

AdmissionsAdmission to the Sixth Form will be from Year 11 at Eggbuckland Community College and students from other schools. All students are required to apply for a place in the Sixth Form.

Applications should be completed by December 11th 2015 for Eggbuckland students, however late admissions will be considered from external applicants. Notification will normally be made by the end of April following student interviews with Sixth Form leaders.

The entry requirements for admissions to Year 12 shall be the same for students on roll in Year 11 at the College and external applicants. All those seeking admission to Year 12 must achieve the necessary grades for access onto the courses they have chosen.

Where the number of eligible external applicants for a course of study exceeds the places available then admission will be determined in accordance with the following priority of admission criteria:

Ÿ Students in the care of a local authority

Ÿ Students considered by the College to have exceptional social or medical needs

Ÿ Students with siblings at the College at the time of admission

Ÿ Any other student

All courses offered at the time of application may change depending on course numbers and staffing arrangements.
