Stewardship Thought for the Week:"This most generous God who gives seed to the farmer that becomes bread for your meals is more than extravagant with you. He gives you something you can then give away, which grows into full-formed lives, robust in God, wealthy in every way, so that you can be generous in every way, producing with us great praise to God." -- Eugene Peterson

SEEKING DONATIONS FOR SUNDAY SCHOOL. As the end of the school year approaches and you are wondering what to do with your children’s left-over school supplies, please consider donating them to St. John’s Sunday School. We are always looking for crayons, markers, and colored pencils. Also, if you have small stuffed animals or beanie babies that need a new home, we will take those as well – we use them as gifts of the children when they have a birthday. Any donations can be dropped off in the church office. If you have questions, contact the Sunday School coordinators at [email protected]. Thanks you!

Volunteer OpportunitiesWEEKLY OFFERING COUNTERS. St. John’s is looking for additional weekly offering money counters. Training on the procedures will be provided, and, after initial training, the time commitment will be approximately 1-1½ hours once every 4-5 weeks (depending on how many volunteers we have) on a rotating basis. Counters will be paired in teams. For more information, please contact the church office.

USHERS NEEDED! Please consider joining an usher team! The more folks we have on each team, the better for all. Contact Amy Schmidt by phone at 952-657-5557 or at [email protected], or call Mike Shepard at 952-445-5613.

SHAKOPEE MOBILE MEALS. This volunteer service organization is seeking additional packers and drivers. Volunteering is a 1-2 hour commitment once every six weeks on a rotating schedule with other Shakopee churches. To volunteer, or get more information, please contact Connie Dunwell (952-445-5299), Delores Mesenbrink (952-445-3963), or Nancy Sortum (952-445-8727).

SUNDAY   SCHOOL TEACHERS NEEDED . We are searching for teachers for the 3 year old and 6th grade classrooms next year. Please contact [email protected] if this is something you would be able to help out with. Team teaching allows for flexible schedules so we try to recruit two volunteer teachers for each classroom.

SUNDAY SCHOOL COORDINATORS NEEDED . We are looking for 1-2 more people to fill the Sunday School Coordinator roles in 2014-2015. You will be working with other people to help spread the duties of the position and will staff the Sunday School office. Now is a great time to step up so you can be trained in before the end of this school year. If you are interested in being a coordinator or have questions, please stop by the Sunday school office or email [email protected].
