APPLICATION & SYSTEM REPORTS SCREEN-SHOTS Log into Hyperion Financial Management Application via Hyperion Work-Space:

The application is well laid out in form of tasks, which facilitate navigation and access to data and also eases management of security. Each of these folders have contextual data forms or data grids or reports placed, for example, clicking on Data Task folder opens the following five menu-items:

FINANCIAL REPORTS SCREEN-SHOTS In addition to the above reporting for system processes, there are custom reports for Financial Statements. These reports can be accessed via the ‘Explorer’ in Hyperion WorkSpace:

The financial Reports from this page can be executed by double-clicking or right clicking on the report and choosing right option: Let us execute ‘Consolidating Balance Sheet Report’:

The above view shows the report in HTML format and shows the Point of View in the top row, which will allow users to run the report for different POV, say for a different year or Entity (Dar Al-Arkan VS its subsidiary). The bottom of the report shows all the open tabs in Workspace, which right now show the Explorer, the HFM Application (TOTCONSOL) and the report. Once you are satisfied with the POV, click on ‘Open in PDF’ icon and the report will be generated in PDF:

DASHBOARDS IN WEB-ANALYSIS: Dashboards can be built in HFM using the data in HFM. Following is a screen-shot of dashboard that has Balance Sheet and Income Statement Data:

CONCLUSION:

Starting with HFM environment is the first concrete step in establishing your EPM suite as it provides complete end to end, platform for quick install of add-on products such as Hyperion Planning etc. Data from HFM can be consumed using Financial Reporting, which provides pixel-perfect formatted repots and using Web-Analysis for ad-hoc reporting and dashboard creation. Smart-View is a powerful add-on for interaction of the data and reports via Microsoft Office applications.
