Community than any other facility outside of the school.

DONALDA AG SOCIETY

It is great to see to finally see some decent harvest weather. The sense of comradeship and community spirit is amazing to feel as neighbours and community pull together to aid each other in the

battle to beat the weather. Prayers for all to get their crops off safely. We invite you to join us celebrate the harvest season with

our fall supper this Saturday, October 27 from 5-7pm at the hall. Tickets just $15, kids under 12 eat free. On Monday, October 22 we

had the privilege of recognizing one of our community youth leaders and volunteers at the Donalda School Awards Night.

Congratulations to Colby Norman, the recipient of the Donalda Ag Society’s Youth Agriculture Award and congratulations to all the

awards. While, we’re not wanting winter activities yet, we do invite the area youth to come toboggan on the hills at Willow Canyon

(formerly the Ski Hill). Once snow arrives, gates will be open on the weekends and throughout any school breaks. Please check the calendar on the website (donaldaagsociety.com) to see if there is a

rental before heading out. Please respect the property and keep your OHVs at home. We will also be installing a temporary

seasonal outdoor skating rink at the Equestrian Centre Property. All users will have access to the heated lobby and washrooms. The proposed area is well lit and close to the school. We’re looking at ways to track the number of users to see if there is indeed a need for a permanent seasonal outdoor rink. Floor Curling in the hall

has started: Tuesdays at 1pm. For bookings of any of our facilities, please contact Beth at 403-741-8196.

Next meeting is Nov 15 @ 7:00pm at the hall.

Did you know?? Each year the Ag Society pays upwards of $12,000 for insurance for the arena, hall and willow

canyon. This includes liabilities and structural insurance. The cost of utilities for the year for the above

properties runs around $20-21,000 each year.
