Visiting Norway a few years ago, a goodfriend of mine took me to a ski resort.


Since this was a first timeexperience for me, he waskind enough to give me 2(and only 2) basic tips:

TIP #1: Keep the tips of yourskis pointing front and centerlike an inverted "v".

TIP #2: Try not to fall.


And then he juststarted snowboardingdownhill.


So after meditating for a few moments on Tip #1(Tip #2 was self explanatory enough) I decidedto do my best to follow him.


And it is from thisexperience that I say

Skiingislikelifebecause:


1It doesn't matter howmuch you've been toldabout it; it is onlythrough experience thatyou find out what thewhole thing is about.


2Focus on what you're doing, andtrust that any previously acquiredskills of yours will help you along...and it will be so.


3Early overconfidencecan make you fall.Keep paying attentionand don't get tooarrogant.

5Don't forget to enjoy the ride andthe view. If you look arroundyou'll see amazing things.


6You should recognize when it'sbeen enough for the day.

Inspite a few falls and abruised ego, when youtake the time to lookcloser you realize thatyou didn't do it that badafter all... and it was fun!

You will thenrecognize that thisperson just helped youdiscover somethingyou didn't know youwere capable of.
