Chris Oxley – “An introduction to Dental Photography for the Clinical Dental Technician”

Chris qualified in 1987 from the University of Leeds and has worked primarily in practice in Leicestershire since. alongside general practice, he has worked

in secondary care in Oral Surgery and for fourteen years in a District general Hospital Department of Restorative Dentistry developing restorative skills in the management of advanced cases and in the implant rehabilitation of cancer and trauma patients. Committed to post-graduate education and training, he has undergone restorative and implant training in the uk, italy, monaco, greece, germany and the uSa. He was one of the first in the country to be awarded the Diploma in general Dental Practice by examination from the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 1994 and later, one of the first to be awarded

the Diploma in implantology with advanced certificate in bone-grafting from the same college in 2007. as a general dental practitioner, his particular interests are in work-placed graduate training, aesthetic, surgical and restorative dentistry. He has been placing implants for over ten years, restoring for longer and provides an implant service within the practice for both “in house” patients and patients on referral.

a keen amateur photographer, Chris has an interest in dental and clinical photography and supports students in case documentation and presentation at Foundation Training and Diploma and masters level.

Professor J F McCord has considerable experience in the teaching of Fixed and Removable Prosthodontics to undergraduates, in clinical, lecture and seminar scenarios.

Professor mcCord is Director of taught masters degree in universities of manchester glasgow (Fixed and removable Prosthodontics) for a total of 10 years.

Professor mcCord’s research interests lie in the field of Health Services Research and currently are centred on implantology and evidence-based care in Removable prosthodontics.

awarded the gold medal of bSSPD in 2008, he has written over 100 publications, four in press and is co-author of four books.

Professor mcCord began as general Dental Practitioner in Falkirk between 1970 - 1981 and among his many

appointments the more recent has been Professor of Restorative Dentistry, university of glasgow (Honorary Consultant in Restorative Dentistry).
