Skip’n Bou, which was born as custom yacht, is an avant-garde

cruiser, which combines the naval architecture of Farr Yacht

Design, synonymous of performance and safety, with the refined

Italian styling of Nauta Design. Southern Wind Shipyard has

given shape to this artwork, mixing advanced materials and

constructions techniques. The aesthetic of Skip’n Bou is modern

and attractive, a panoramic deck saloon which allows a 260

degrees outlook is complemented by a generous sunbathing

area, located between the crew and the central cockpit

dedicated to guests.

The lay-out allows at the same time privacy for the new owner,

guest and crew and great functionality in the yacht

management. Note that Skip’n Bou has two separate

companion ways, for guests and crew, a feature quite rare on a 80

ft yacht. Hull and deck are built using SP Systems epoxy resin,

Carbon and kevlar skins, which is a promise for performance.

Skip’ N Bou cruiser racer like most of the SWS units, weight 42 tons of carbon, gets easily a

speed of 10 knots under sails.

Crossing the Atlantic 10 times, speed 14 knots with a good trade wind is not unusual. (Max 18 !

Which is not bad for the size and the weight.) Steering the boat is a pleasure, always feel safe

with heavy breeze and waves.

Engine runs around 2200 rpm, speed 9/10 knots. Fuel tanks 2500 litres which give a range of 5

days. (One week at 2000 rpm).

Bimini is guaranteed until 60 knots! (Messine straight. I never try more). I would say Skip’n Bou

is a perfect fast comfortable and safe family cruiser. Maintenance has always been kept to the

highest level and systems updated. Which gives the maximum of pleasure to his crew and

guests when cruising.
