Preparation for competitive exams is a need of todays era, so to motivate our students for such preparations they should know the success stories of persons who successfully ac-quired such golas, we at department of civil engineering are pleased when one of such im-minent personality visited to our campus as a resource person. Mr. Abhaysinh Mohite has successfully qualified for the post of Deputy Collector through MPSC. With full enthusiasm Departmental Student’s Association “CESA” or-ganized an Expert Lecture of Mr. Abhaysinh Mohite on “Preparation for General Copetitive Exams” on 16th January 2016. This function was presided by Hon. Principal Dr. K. J. Karande in presence of Prof. C. P. Pise, Head, Department of Civil Engineering.

The purpose of this lecture was to give idea about preparations for MPSC exams to the students. They would get benefited to under-stand the benefits from experts personal expe-

riences. The function was started with felicitation of

Speaker and Guest Mr. Abhaysinh Mohite (Depty Collector) by Hon. Principal Dr. K. J. Karande in Presence of Prof. C. P. Pise (Head, Department of Civil Engineering) and Mr. Dinesh Gaikwad, Pres-ident, CESA were present.

Followed by this Mr. Abhaysinh Mohite sir shared his overall journey and experiences to be successful in competitive exams. He also appreci-ated the organizing committee for their keen in-volvement in such a most excellent program un-der CESA. He also emphasized on benefits of stu-dents participation in such events.

The function was concluded with vote of thanks by Mr. Dinesh Gaikwad. The lots of efforts was taken by all CESA committee members and other departmental students for successful ac-complishment of this program.

ONE WEEK WORKSHOP ON ‘STAAD-PRO’

It is in this perspective; SKN Sinhgad College

of Engineering has introduced a number of innovative

programs to create awareness in students about career

opportunities that are emerging and to equip them suita-

bly to succeed in competition for securing the best jobs.

STAAD. Pro is one of the advanced tools used

by the industry for structural analysis & design. As there-

al estate sector is booming, the demand for well skilled

Civil Engineering professions also increased.

To provide all this required knowledge

the department had organized a One Week

Workshop on Staad Pro from 28th December

2015 to 1st January 2016 with association of

As there is a huge requirement of infrastruc-ture and housing sector in India, so there is a huge demand for Civil Engineers and also there is large possibilities for the students of Civil engineering to become an entrepreneur. So to give about idea possi-bilities of starting self-business or to be an entrepre-neur what things are required, Department of Civil Engineering had organised Two Days Workshop on ‘Entrepreneurship Development’ in association with MITCON consultancy & Engineering Services, Sola-pur. from 24th January 2016 to 25th January 2016. MITCON have number of experts to guide on this topic.

MITCON Consultancy & Engineering Services Ltd. is an ISO 9001:2008 certified company, listed on SME Platform (EMERGE) of National Stock Exchange of India Limited. MITCON was formed as a technical consultancy organisation in 1982 jointly by ICICI, IDBI, IFCI, SICOM, MIDC, MSSIDC and various banks.

The trainers for this workshop was Mr. Arvind Joshi, Mr. Nandkumar Dupade & Mr. Londhe from MITCON. Prof. C. P. commercial aspects of SSI unit (General concept on-ly), Financial aspects of SSI unit including salient fea-tures of a project report, Schemes of assistance and Support available from Govt. agencies, banks, finan-cial institutions, SFCs etc., Creativity and business - the man behind the venture - the behavioral scien-tist's approach. Communication Skills for better re-sults in business, experience sharing by existing en-trepreneur, Feedback and discussion on the camp and factory visit.

The Introductory & conclusive session was anchored by Mr. Akash More, second year Student, Ms. Poonam Surwase, second year Student expressed vote of thanks.

For Gold Medal by Solapur University

Major achievement of depar tment in this aca-

demic year was University GOLD medal of Mr. Samadhan

Jagdale. In 11th Convocation ceremony of Solapur Universi-

ty, Solapur Mr. Samadhan Jagdale awarded witrh Gold Med-

al for scoring highest marks in all subjects in Engineering

exams held in April-May 2015.

Felicitation of Mr. Samadhan Jagdale was done by

Hon. Principal Dr. K. J. Karande in presence of Dr. C. P.

Pise (HOD, Department of Civil Engineering). Hon.

Principal Dr. K. J. Karande has addressed to the stu-

As a need to make students of engineering

competitive in all manner Civil Engineering Students Association “CESA” had organised a State level tech fest called as “SIVILIZE 2K16” on 5th March 2016. This tech fest includes different events viz. Debate competition, Poster Presentation & Town Planning model making competition.

The SIVILIZE 2K16 was inaugurated by Hon. Principal Dr. K.. J. Karande in presence of Dr. C. P. Pise, Head of Department of Civil Engineering, Prof. R. T. Vyavhare , Head of Department of Mechanical Engi-neering,
