Panicking, she cried out desparately for help. Something moved in front of her. Looking more closely, Rosie noticed a squirrel. The squirrel ran to the foot of a tree and began digging in the fallen leaves. Moving closer, Rosie saw a torch half buried in the leaves. She picked it up and turned it on. To her amazement, it worked. Rosie followed an overgrown path and soon she could see the lights of the village in the distance. Relieved, she ran towards the little cottage, happy to be safe at last. The next morning, when Rosie met her next door neighbour, she told him about her adventure in the woods. Thinking about the last time he had been in the woods, he remembered that he had lost his torch. “But I don´t know anything about the squirrel,“ he said. “Perhaps you were just lucky.“ Later that morning, when Rosie returned to the cottage, she saw a cute grey squirrel sitting on the stone wall. She smiled thankfully and relised that it was more than luck that helped her find her way to safety.

More than Luck
