Problem

One scam that has popped up in several craigslistcommunities involves a buyer overpaying for an itemwhen you wanted to purchase the commoditiis. First,in this scam, an innocent seller advertises an item oncraigslist for a given amount – say 1,500 dollars, butan interested buyer contacts the seller and says he’llsend a check for the item, but when the check arrives,it’s written for a much larger amount. Finally the scamartist has his money, and the innocent seller takes theblame.
