Description TheEvolutionModelSLXASlidingSleeveisadownhole device,normallyscrewedintotheproductiontubing,that allowscommunicationbetweenthetubingandthecasing. ThedeviceusesVitonO-ringsaswellasreplaceableupper andlowereasy-to-replaceVeeseals.TheVeesealscanbe ofvariouselastomertypes.Thestandardsealmaterialisa carbongraphite/Teflon®composition. TheSLXASlidingSleevehasanOtis®-style'X'Selective Nippleprofileandasealingboreintheuppersubwhich servesasareceptacleforotherFlowControldevicessuch asblankingplugsandseparationtools.Thelowersubalso containsasealbore. TheSLXASlidingSleevecanbeinstalledatanypointinthe tubingstring.Morethanonecanbeinstalledwithoutany lossoffunction.Whenmultipleslidingsleevesareinplace, theycanbeselectivelyopenedandclosedinthetubing string. TheEBShiftingToolisusedtoshifttheSLXASlidingSleeve openandclosed.Thetoolisdesignedtothatnormal wirelineactivitieswillnotopenorclosethesleeve inadvertently.UpwardjarringopenstheInnerSleeveand downwardjarringclosestheInnerSleeve.Itisavailablein tubingsizesfrom1.900”upto5½”,in4140L-80material,as wellaspremiumsteelssuchas9Cr,13CrandIncoloy925. ThestandardthreadisEUE,butvariouspremiumthreads maybemachinedintothistoolasrequired.
