Taiwan’s SG Master Plan

• Taiwan’s SG Master Plan Has Been Approved in September 2012.

• The SG Master Plan Is Divided Into 3 Stages: 2012~15, 2016~20, and 2021~30.

Distribution Feeder Automation

• Finished 53% of feeders with FDIR (Fault Detection, Isolation and Service Restoration) function in year 2012

• Increase the number from 2,110 to 6,256 feeders• Main stream is the open loop type

High-Voltage AMI Timeline• High voltage AMI total 23300 meters covering 59% electrical

power consumption of Taipower are being installed in 2013.

A 3-year Project Starts for Implementation Since 2013 through 2015.The Project Contents Include:Joint Research on SG Standards with International Standards Development Organizations, Studies on Worldwide SG Standards Development Trends, Planning of Platforms to Test SG Appliances, in Particular, on Smart Home, Building Automation, EV, Microgrid etc.The Project Also Surveys SG Industries

Concluding Remarks BSMI, Jointly with NSC and TSGIA, Is Being Studying The

US and Europe Standards.

Large-Sized Projects Are Being Planned To Integrate The On- Going NSC Studies, e.g., The Peng Hu Project.

Testing and Verification on The SG Components Including Microgrid, ES, AMI, EV, Smart Appliance for Home, Building, Factory etc., Are Key to The Success of SG Development.

The Joint Work on Common Standards of SG Across Strait is Also Important to Taiwan’s SG Industry
