YTONG CONSTRUCTION SM(ART) HOUSE Michalska moat is situated in Old Town in Bratislava and is bordered by Kapucinska Street, Zupne square, Hurbanovo square, Klariska Street, Bastova Street, Zamocnicka Street and Hotel Arkadia. Current condition of Michalska trench is characterised as unused space, which is gradually depreciated. The only accessible parts of the trench are Restauarnt and Cafe Prasna Basta with access from Zamocnicka street and summer reading room U červeného raka, which is accessible through baroque’s house on Michalska street. The main idea of this proposal was to develop multifunctional space in Michalska trench, which would be made accessible from various parts – Town’s library, Pullitzer Restaurant, Reastaurant and Cafe Prašná Bašta, Restaurant Primi and U červeného raka. In this space we are developing characteristic element, which knits the look of whole trench and is bringing back to its original – water characteristics. We used water elements of various looks, in order to ensure attractiveness for all ages and make the spaces non-monotonous. The biggest water elements are situated in places which we allocated based on surface of the trench to which we adapted throughout the whole proposal. In the proposal we make use of materials, which are already situated in this environment and leave behind most of the high greens. Funcional-operatinal usage of the trench keeps the current use of surrounded buildings and space is enriched to new spaces which offer possibility for small events, screening, expositions, presentation of arts and crafts, small concerts, usage of water surface during winter times, etc. We are developing connection of proposed building – SM(ART) house with the Barbakan building through the second floor, in order not to prevent from direct access between various areas of the trench. Proposed building is considered as one of the main access to Michalska trench, where is developed independent staircase with elevator for access for handicapped. The second access for handicapped was developed near the Dom sluzieb Bata. Access is protruded into the space and therefore people are getting into the center of everything while keeping the current green. Remaining accesses situated in existing objects which have the ability to access the trench from are offering also access for handicapped. 136809

The only accessible parts of the trench are Restauarnt and Cafe Prasna Basta with access from Zamocnicka street and summer reading room U červeného raka, which is accessible through baroque’s house on Michalska street.

The main idea of this proposal was to develop

multifunctional space in Michalska trench, which would be made accessible from various parts – Town’s library, Pullitzer Restaurant, Reastaurant and Cafe Prašná Bašta, Restaurant Primi and U červeného raka.

In this space we are developing characteristic element,

which knits the look of whole trench and is bringing back to its original – water characteristics. We used water elements of various looks, in order to ensure attractiveness for all ages and make the spaces non-monotonous.

The biggest water elements are situated in places which

we allocated based on surface of the trench to which we adapted throughout the whole proposal. In the proposal we make use of materials, which are already situated in this environment and leave behind most of the high greens.

Funcional-operatinal usage of the trench keeps the current

use of surrounded buildings and space is enriched to new spaces which offer possibility for small events, screening, expositions, presentation of arts and crafts, small concerts, usage of water surface during winter times, etc. We are developing connection of proposed building – SM(ART) house with the Barbakan building through the second floor, in order not to prevent from direct access between various areas of the trench.

Proposed building is considered as one of the main

access to Michalska trench, where is developed independent staircase with elevator for access for handicapped. The second access for handicapped was developed near the Dom sluzieb Bata. Access is protruded into the space and therefore people are getting into the center of everything while keeping the current green.
