NOFAS, a non-profit public health advocacy organization, strives for a worldwhere all children are born alcohol-free and healthy. NOFAS dedicates itsenergies and resources to education, spreading awareness and prevention of therange of Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD).

NOFAS also advocates to improve policies, programs and funding for FASDdetection, surveillance and prevention, and supports individuals and familiesliving with these disorders.iving with these disorders.

As many as 40,000 newborns each year have some form of physical, mental,behavioral, or learning disabilities resulting from their moms alcoholconsumption during pregnancy. Now the leading cause of developmentaldisabilities and birth defects, FASD are 100% preventable if women know andavoid the risks of combining alcohol and pregnancy.
