WHY IS MOBILE IMPORTANT?

• Worldwide, mobile devices and tablets have transformed the way people access information, communicate and publish content in less than 10 years.

• 2016 Mobile and tablet internet usage exceeded desktop for first time worldwide

• 2017 Android overtakes Windows in terms of internet usage

- According to Sensis data, 76% of Australians own smartphones, 53% tablets and 17% ‘iPod Touch or similar devices’ compared to 70% who own laptop and 54% desktop computers (2016, p. 11).

- More Australians own smartphones than laptops

WHY IS MOBILE IMPORTANT?
