Introduction

4 SmartPlant Materials Data Sheet

Introduction Various idents can be standardized flexibly and efficiently in SmartPlant Materials. The SmartPlant Materials default reports do not fulfill this flexibility. Therefore, it is necessary to have a report for printing the ident specifications.

The data sheets are generally printed and distributed to the faculties. Because of changes and completions, they become obsolete quite rapidly. With today’s possibilities, you can process the data sheets electronically and make them available in the intranet.

This documentation describes the creation of a data sheet, which fulfills the general conditions mentioned above.

Prerequisites

SmartPlant Materials Data Sheet 5

Prerequisites ORACLE® Tools

The data sheet is created with the ORACLE®*Reportwriter. With this tool you have the opportunity to specify the layout interactively. The respective ORACLE licenses are not part of SmartPlant Materials.

6 SmartPlant Materials Data Sheet

Elements of the Data Sheet General Information

All data for the data sheet are available in SmartPlant Materials (ident descriptions, graphs, dimensions, etc).

The definition of the report layout (header, data area, footer) is customer-specific. The customer can create the data sheet layout interactively.

Solution: With the previewer, you can place the SmartPlant Materials-fields directly on the screen as you like (type, type size,...). Then you can save this configuration as a report-template.

A data sheet contains a commodity code and associated information. A page break is made for each commodity code.

• The data sheet is a multilingual label catalog.

• The format is customer-specific without any restrictions (A4 high, legal,...)

• You can select a type.

The data sheet is available as an HTML file or as a PDF file (Acrobat Reader). You can put these files to the intranet if you want to.

Part Drawings All drawings used in the data sheet must be loaded into the SmartPlant Materials database (formats: bmp, tiff, pict). They are entered in G.10.02 or G.10.03.

One or more drawings can be attached to:

• One commodity group

• One part

• One commodity code

Pipe Class A data field pipe class is available to print the pipe class certificate. If an Index of Piping Material Classes was given, all pipe classes will be printed in which the commodity code from S.50.06 Spec Items will be used.

Table of Measurement The dimensions of the part are saved in SmartPlant Materials geometric tables. All geometric tables that are assigned to a commodity code (S.40.22) are available for the print.

By predefined rules the user can set the number, the column header, and the order of the dimensions that will be printed.

The definition of such a rule is similar to S.40.21 Geometric Rules. In addition to the rule code and a possible (short) description, the group codes, part codes and commodity codes, for which the rule shall be valid, are set in the first block.

In contrast to S.40.21 where all rules that are met by a commodity code are consulted, for the data sheets, only the “most exact” rule will be used.

For example, if there are the following rules:

• A with Group Code = P / Part Code = % / Commodity Code = %,

• B with Group Code = P / Part Code = RP / Commodity Code = %.

For the commodity code PRPBBA1, only rule B will be used, and for the PAPBCA1, only rule A.

In block 2 you define the selection and order of the dimensions. You can only select those attributes, which are used in the geometric tables. If no rules are defined or if no rule meets a commodity code, all dimensions will be printed.

The rule definition makes it possible to form the number, order, and order sequence of the dimensions. A variable layout of the type size depending on the field sizes and number is not possible.

If the measurements table extends the paper size, the order fields will be repeated at the page makeup and the remaining fields will be printed.

The filtration of the nominal sizes is realized as follows:

1. Filter pipe class dependent yes/no. If yes, then only the commodity codes and nominal sizes, which are available within pipe classes, will be printed.

2. The name for the table of values with value range (LOV) for nominal size and wall thickness will be questioned by starting the report.

Rating The name of the rating table is assigned to the commodity code (S.30.01) or, if the pipe class parameter is set to ‚Y‘, the rating will be taken from the pipe class header.

The input of the value pair is done in S.40.1X (but not S.40.12) or in S.50.2x Rating Geometrics.

Starting Data Sheet

16 SmartPlant Materials Data Sheet

Starting Data Sheet The following parameters will be questioned for by starting the report:

1. Output (Preview, File, Printer). 2. Name of the file (if output is file). 3. File format of the report (dflt, htm, pdf). 4. Language code (English, German, ...). 5. Layout code (report header/footer). 6. Pipe class dependency Yes or No. 7. Selection of a table of values with range detail. 8. Which commodity codes (wildcards are possible).

Additional to the output format, e.g. Previewer, you can generally choose the format HTML to get an HTML file. This file can be published to the intranet and displayed with your browser without having a client installation.

If the report exceeds more than one page, the header and footer will be repeated on each page.
