SMCV4702 Key Features:

High Performance Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) - based VoIP Gateway Supports 2 T1 Interfaces Connects analog phones / fax machines, legacy PBX, and key systems to an IP telephony network

Various uplink interfaces (GPON, Cable Modem, Ethernet Port) SMCV4702 has two ports for T1 Primary Rate ISDN trunks that allow up to 48 simultaneous channels (46 is typical). It also has 2 analog FXS ports to support direct connection to analog phones, FAX machines, modems, or alarm systems and 4 FXO ports to provide PSTN connectivity in disaster recovery scenarios.   The WAN interface to the service provider data network can be a DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem, Ethernet, or xPON.

Application Overview

The SMCV4702 is a 19” rack mountable VoIP gateway that connects PBXs via legacy Primary Rate ISDN signaling to SIP-based environments.   It supports typical PBX applications including traditional voice trunk access to the PSTN and private networks between enterprise PBXs. The SMCV4702 a l l ows se rv i ce providers to offer business telephony services to the large legacy PBX installed base using their existing data n e t w o r k a n d V o i c e o v e r I P infrastructure.  It also connects to a VoIP PBX to traditional telephone circuits such as analog phones/faxes or digital T1 circuit and converts the analog signal into voice over IP and sends it to the VoIP PBX.This powerful and flexible platform provides the ideal solution for Cable Operators to aggressively grow their commercial customer base.
