Abelia x mosanensis Fragrant Abelia

Height: 4-5' Sun Exposure: sun-part shade

Wonderfully fragrant, rich pink & white flowers adorn this plant from late May to early June. The glossy summer foliage turns an attractive or-ange-red in autumn. Very hardy and easy to grow.

Acorus calamus 'Variegatus' Variegated Sweet Flag

Height: 30-36" Sun Exposure: sun-part shade

This grass is grown for its attractive bright green and creamy yellow variegated foliage. When crushed, it emits a delicious tangerine scent. Native to bogs, shallow ponds, and marshes, this plant will grow in shal-low water and also works well in tubs, pots, and water gardens.

Agastache 'Bolero' Bolero Hyssop

Height: 14-16" Sun Exposure: full sun

This long blooming perennial has vivid rose purple flower spikes that sit atop bronzy green foliage from midsummer into fall. This plant is well-adapted to thrive in dry soils and works very well in rock gardens and containers, where it will attract hummingbirds and butterflies.

Wild ginger is a native spring wildflower that makes a lovely ground-cover with its satiny, heart-shaped leaves. Its unique purplish brown flowers appear beneath the leaves in spring. Flowers are quite attractive on close inspection, but are usually hidden from view by the foliage. Prefers moist, well-drained soil.

Star-shaped flowers come in a range of colors from bright yellow-orange to near red and are heavily spotted with red freckles. Pear-shaped seed pods are tan and burst open in the fall to display black-purple seeds. Strappy, olive green leaves are reminiscent of iris. Prefers drier soils.

This wonderful new variety in the Big Bang™ Series, produces 1-2" wide velvety wine red flowers with a gold button center. This sterile vari-ety flowers continuously from mid-June until frost, requiring very little maintenance. Plants bulk up quickly to form wide spreading, well-branched clumps of bright green, narrow leaves. Has proven zone 5 hardy in central Massachusetts for three years.

The first member of Darrell Probst’s new series Permathread™, this zone 5 hardy threadleaf coreopsis has deep wine red to ruby red flow-ers with an orange center. This sterile variety has a long bloom period, producing flowers all summer and if cut back, the plants can be encour-aged to rebloom until frost. Compared to other threadleaf types, it has darker green foliage and is more clump forming.

Buddleia ‘Attraction’ Butterfly Bush

This fast growing Butterfly Bush can reach 5-6' tall. It will flower from summer to frost with dead-heading and adequate water. The masses of fragrant, deep red-purple flowers attract butterflies and hummingbirds, and are good cut flowers as well. Buddleias may die back hard in very cold winters so spring pruning and winter protection are suggested.

Tufts of dark red new growth top the clump of deep purple, evergreen foliage. Sun exposure brings out the purple coloring, so if planted in more shade, the foliage will be dark green. In late spring, yellow-green bracts are produced on reddish stems just above the foliage. Striking when planted with yellow and silver foliage plants such as Heucherella ‘Sunrise Falls’ and Brunnera ‘Jack Frost’. Not tolerant of wet winter soil.

A small shrub with beautiful, fine textured blue-green foliage that grows well in full sun to full shade locations. Buttercup yellow blooms adorn the plant from late spring to early summer with some reblooming throughout the remaining season. Red berries begin to show their color in late summer and through the fall.

This variety was selected from the Chicago Botanic Garden's Plant Evaluation Program as an outstanding perennial for Midwest gardens.

Stand-ing about knee high, the rich green foliage is covered with golden yellow flowers from midsummer through early fall. This selection is produced via tissue culture, producing a uniform product.
