Snapchat

Snapchat is a video messaging app created by Even Spiegel, Bobby Murphy and Reggie Brown. Even Spiegel was the main creator of Snapchat. The students of Stanford University helped out too. According to Snapchat in May 2014 the apps users were taken 700 millions photos and videos per day, while Snapchat stories were viewed 500 million times per day. This is a substantial amount especially when the average amount of photos taken per day is 1 billion, this means that half of all photos taken is from the Snapchat app. The company has a valuation of $10-$20 billion depending on multiple sources.

Evan was born in Los Angeles, California on June 4th 1990. Evens parents are Melissa Thomas and John Spiegel, who are lawyers. Even grew up in Pacific Palisades, California. He was raised attending an Episcopal church. He was educated at the Crossroads School for Arts and Sciences in Santa Monica, and attended Stanford University. Even took design classes at the Otis College of Art and Design while still in high school and at the Art Centre College of Design in Pasadena the summer before entering Stanford. He also had an unpaid internship in sales at Red Bull. While a student, he worked as a paid intern for a biomedical company, as a careers instructor in Cape Town, South Africa.

In 2012, he left Stanford to focus on Snapchat shortly after completing his degree. While studying product design at Stanford he produced Snapchat as a class project. Evan co-founded the mobile application Snapchat along with Robert Murphy and Reggie Brown. He is the CEO of Snapchat. He and Robert Murphy had previously developed FutureFreshman.com an online guide to the college applications process.

Facebook

Mark Elliot Zuckerberg was born on May 14th 1984. Mark is 31 years old. Mark is an American computer programmer and Internet entrepreneur. He is best known as one of five co-founders of the social networking website Facebook. Mark is the chairman and chief executive of Facebook, Inc. His wealth in March 2015 was estimated to be $35.1 billion. Mark receives a one-dollar salary as CEO of Facebook.

Together with his college roommates and fellow Harvard University students Eduardo Saverin, Andrew McCollum, Dustin Moskovitz, and Chris Hughes. He launched Facebook from Harvard University’s dormitory rooms. The group then introduced Facebook onto other campuses nationwide and moved to Palo Alto, California shortly afterwards. In 2007, at the age of 23, Mark became a billionaire as a result of Facebook's success. The number of Facebook users worldwide reached a total of one billion in 2012.

Mark was born in 1984 in White Plains, New York. He is the son of dentist Edward Zuckerberg and psychiatrist Karen Kempner. He and his three sisters, Randi, Donna, and Arielle were brought up in Dobbs Ferry, New York, a small Westchester County town about 10 miles north of New York City. Mark was raised Jewish and had his bar mitzvah when he turned 13.

DoneDeal

DoneDeal was established in 2004 as an online classifieds website by husband and wife Fred and Geraldine Karlsson.

The founders were inspired to set up the site after returning to Ireland from Sweden where they had used similar websites. Apps have played a part in the accessibility of DoneDeal with an iPhone app

launched in 2011 followed by an Android app in 2012.

DoneDeal had a add on the tv for the first time in 2012. This was at a time where the number of monthly visitors to the site had increased to almost three million. DoneDeal has raised hundreds of thousands of euros for charity by donating a portion of ads to charities

By 2008, DoneDeal had monthly visitors to the site it had jumped from 175,000 per month in November 2007 to 561,000 in November 2008. The site became so popular in Ireland that €1 billon worth of goods were sold through the site in 2011, a €300 million increase from 2010. Following an independent ABC audit in 2011, it was found that DoneDeal had the most visited motoring classifieds website in Ireland. By late 2011 DoneDeal had become the fastest growing search term in Ireland for 2011 according to Google. Approximately 85,000 ads per month were placed on the site in 2011 and it can have approximately 160,000 active ads on the site at a time.
