INT BACK LOT OF POST OFFICE DAY Beatriz stares at the barebone metal shelves aligend against the walls showing no letters nor packages. EMPLOYEE (OS) Are you Beatriz, Beatriz González? INT CENTRAL HALL AT POST OFFICE DAY Instinctly, Beatriz turns to find ROBERTO (38) who smiles at her in awe . BEATRIZ (ASTONISHED) Do you know me? ROBERT (EXCITEDLY, LAUGHING) You bet! So, your husband is coming back home. Beatriz stares at Roberto in awe. ROBERT We wrote that letter. Pretty convincing, eh? BEATRIZ What are you talking about? ROBERT (EXCUSING HIMSELF) We had no alternative. Don Antonio resisted, I didn´t like the idea either. Keep it between us, but we got used to it. BEATRIZ Why did you do that? ROBERT Nobody was sending letters any more. We started writing letters to the women, but you were the only one who answered. You understand that the post office can´t serve only one customer and it closed. (REFLECTING) No complaints, it was a nice gig. 1

Instinctly, Beatriz turns to find ROBERTO (38) who smiles at herin awe .

BEATRIZ (ASTONISHED)Do you know me?

ROBERT (EXCITEDLY, LAUGHING)You bet! So, your husband is coming backhome. Beatriz stares at Roberto in awe.

ROBERTWe wrote that letter. Pretty convincing,eh?

BEATRIZWhat are you talking about?

ROBERT (EXCUSING HIMSELF)We had no alternative. Don Antonioresisted, I didn´t like the idea either.Keep it between us, but we got used toit.

BEATRIZWhere is don Antonio?

ROBERTHe retired. The bycicle and his cap

(POINTS AT THEM IN A CORNER)will be part of the collection of the newmuseum in town. Beatriz storms out of thepost office.

INT-EXT ERNESTO´S GARAGE-STREET DAY

Valentín turns on the engine of the car which roars weakly. Whenthe car reaches the street, it advances a few meters when,suffocated, stops in the middle of the street. As Valentín restshis arms on the steering wheel, the claxon starts to ring evenafter Valentín detaches.

In an attempt to stop the sound, he hits the claxon with nosuccess. Attracted by the ringing, a group of teenagers approachthe car, yelling and laughing. As if it were a party, theteeangers help Valentín push the car back to the garage.

From afar, Natalia views the performance. In dismay, Valentínstares at the car and the teenagers who keep on shouting as ifthey were trying to give life to the car. Finally, the claxonstops ringing and the tenagers applaud.

INT-EXT GARAGE DAY

Surrounded by autoparts laying on the floor, Valentín works underthe car. Suddenly, he gets the impression of being observed. Helooks up to see Natalia´s silouhette at the entrance to thegarage.

Natalia approaches Valentín amid the display of autoparts.

NATALIAAre these what is in the car? Valentínwatches Natalia examine the parts.

NATALIAIncredible all that can be broken down.Natalia points at a part with her foot.

NATALIAWhat is it?

VALENTINEl acumulador.

VALENTINIt transforms an energy into another oneto turn on the engine.

NATALIA (INSIDIOUSLY)In pieces, is it yet a car?

Natalia walks away to the entry.

Natalia walks across German who steps in the garage..

NATALIA (WALKING AWAY)And it works.

GERMAN (EXCITED)How is it coming? Valentín shrugs hisshoulders.

GERMANIf you decide to go back north, I´ll joinyou.

RENATAWhy are you so interested in me? What doyou know that I don´t?

Hurridly, the Attendant collects a bunch of brochures from theshelves and drops them on Renata´s hands.

EMPLEADATake a look by yourself and you tell meafterwards.

INT EMILY´S BEDROOM DAY

Gloria stares at Emily as she sleeps. As she wakes, Emily issurprised by Gloria´s face so near hers.

GLORIAI like your face, so different to mom´s.Gloria looks at herself in the mirror andplays with the make up suff displayed ona small table.

GLORIA (EYEING EMILY THROUGH HER REFLECTION)It´s true, the line on your eyes is justperfect.

Emily stares at Gloria affectionately intimidating the girl.

EMILYDo you want me to make you up?
