Short Term Goal Results
Evaluate, maintain, and enhance the security of main entrances at schools
➢ Construction of secure entrances fully complete at all buildings except Alward Elementary. Alward has a temporary secure entrance now, final solution will be complete in July of 2017.
Review and improve student experiences on buses
➢ Decided to produce student-focused public service commercial with input provided by bus driver representatives and principal representatives.
➢ Eighteen buses now have up-to-date cameras. Each new bus will come equipped with cameras and as funding allows cameras will be added to the existing 74 bus fleet.
Support district-wide plans to provide meaningful communication to our stakeholders
➢ New website platform that allows for easier use by stakeholders via mobile devices.
➢ Addition of text message options via SchoolMessenger.

Evaluate, maintain, and strengthen district-wide safety procedures and infrastructure
➢ The crisis response committee has conducted safety audits as well as provided training to all staff to prepare them on how to handle a violent intruder. We also require all staff to wear picture ID badges.
➢ Secure entrances were funded by the 2015 bond.
Review and address technology sustainability, replacement, and growth in accordance with educational and operational objectives
➢ Using the 2015 Bond proceeds staff laptops have been replaced along with numerous upgrades to student devices.

Sustain high quality district-wide facilities continuing the tradition of honoring taxpayer commitment/support
➢ Purchase, renovation, and opening of the 40th Avenue South Elementary, Alward and Bauer Elementary expansions, and Riley Street Middle School addition.
➢ Each building has received a secure entrance upgrade.
Preserve a commitment to conservative budgeting in a time of school funding uncertainty
➢ Implemented a building budget carryover process for better planning and utilization of current resources.
Maintain equitable resources among all buildings and levels throughout the district
➢ We plan our staffing, class sizes, and budget allocations for all buildings around the central principle of equity.
