Developing leaders capable of making a difference in the world has been the purpose of the Anhembi Morumbi University for
more than 40 years. The Institution’s initiatives throughout 2016 confirm such commitment.
The University was involved in several actions aimed at the social and professional development of students, teachers and
employees over the last year, based on enriching initiatives to train our students and promote the professional growth of our
faculty and administrative staff members.
In 2016, Anhembi Morumbi accomplished several academic achievements, such as maintaining the three stars awarded by
the international certification program QS Stars, valid for the 2015/2016 period. The highlights in the national rankings were
the 144 stars in the student-oriented publication Guia do Estudante, and 8th place among the top private universities in the
city of São Paulo, according to a selection made by newspaper Folha de São Paulo – Ranking Universitário da Folha (RUF).
Several academic partnerships were signed throughout the year, providing a hands-on professional experience for students.
Similarly, the actions promoted by the Anhembi Carreiras portal allowed students to expand their networking with several
companies and boost their employability, also through professional guidance sessions.
Regarded as one of the pillars of Anhembi Morumbi, internationality was part of the everyday life of the Institution’s entire
academic community. In 2016, more than 310 Brazilian students had the chance to participate in exchange programs abroad
and foreign students benefited from studying in Brazil. During the same period, approximately 4,900 Business students were
trained and became proficient in the English language – a major competitive edge in today’s challenging international job
market.
Anhembi Morumbi is aware of its social role within the community. Therefore, the University promoted a series of initiatives
throughout 2016 to engage its academic and administrative community. Some of the highlights are “Hazing for Solidarity”,
which involved more than 1,000 students performing 2,300 social responsibility activities; and the Global Days of Service, which
promoted social activities throughout the month of October. Among these initiatives are actions in support of the Breast Cancer
Awareness Month (known as Pink October in Brazil) and the National Social Responsibility Day, engaging more than 4,900
students and employees and providing over 200,000 different services to the community.
We invite you to read through the following pages and learn more about the initiatives sponsored by Anhembi Morumbi
University in 2016, which show the commitment of students, professors and employees in actions that generated extremely
important results for the building of a better world.

development of the students.
As for the 2016 edition of RUF (Folha’s
University Ranking), which is an annual
assessment of the higher education in
Brazil created by newspaper Folha de São
Paulo, Anhembi Morumbi University ranked
110th place among the 195 public and
private universities in the country and 8th
place among the private universities in the
city of São Paulo.
RUF assesses Brazilian public and private
universities based on five indicators:
Scientific Research, Teaching Quality,
Internationalization, Labor Market and
Innovation. Anhembi Morumbi stood
out among the 50 best in the national
ranking in the Teaching Quality criterion.
In addition, four courses were among
the top 10 in the overall public and
private university rankings, as follows:
Fashion (1st place), Tourism (2nd place),
Advertising & Marketing (8th place) and
Design (10th place).
Anhembi Morumbi. Focada nisso, a Universidade estabeleceu

A Anhembi Morumbi
As reportagens

In addition to partnerships for the compulsory internships,
collaborations were also established to expand students’
knowledge in the classroom, through congresses, lectures,
workshops, tutorial classes and courses, with special paying
conditions or even free of charge to our student body.
In September, the School of Tourism & Hospitality signed an
exclusive partnership with the directors of Equipotel Fair, one of
the largest hotel events in the country, so that an exclusive group
of students had the opportunity to visit the fair carrying special
credentials. The students were, therefore, able to strengthen
the networking with large companies in the hotel segment
participating in the event, as well as attend exclusive lectures
and workshops with renowned professionals. Anhembi Morumbi
is the only educational institution to maintain such partnership.
Another relevant partnership which contributed to the
strengthening of students’ academic experiences was established
between the Journalism course and Radio CBN, one of the most
important radio outlets in São Paulo. Every month, throughout
2016, students submitted audio reports produced during the
school year. The selected pieces were broadcast to the capital and
metropolitan regions of the city of São Paulo on Saturdays.
Do
realizadas no México, Chile e Portugal.
World Business Forum e Laureate Ambassador Awards, por
exemplo.
profissionais e líderes do mundo.
é discutir liderança e inspirar jovens a fazerem a diferença no
mundo, tornando-se líderes influentes no mercado global. O
no WOBI on Leadership, no México.
coordenar a experiência no exterior e dar todo apoio necessário

Internationality
20
Bearing internationality as one of its pillars, Anhembi Morumbi
University is committed to providing students, faculty and staff
with a multicultural experience, by training professionals to be
capable of responding to the demands of the globalized world.
International interaction is a premise of the Institution and is
rooted in its courses and campuses.
For this reason, Anhembi Morumbi maintains the International
Office, or its internationality department, which is in charge of
coordinating students’ experiences abroad and providing them
with the necessary support. The office also manages exchange
programs, international conferences, expos with foreign
institutions, broadcasts of major global events, workshops and
several academic activities with foreign professors from Latin
America, the United States and Europe.
Throughout 2016, several students from the most varied courses
had the chance to interact through internationality projects, such
as the Academic Mobility Program, which reached more than
310 students in its two pillars of action.
InBOUnD MOBILITy
It receives international students from all over the world to

Academic Mobility Program
Another highlight was the exchange program, one of the
students’ most sought after products upon enrolling. Of the total
number of students interested in participating in an exchange
program in 2016, 29% of them enrolled in a six-month program
and 20% in vacation programs.
Anhembi Morumbi offers programs through partnerships with
institutions belonging to Laureate International Universities
network or through external partners, such as financial
institutions. In the 2016 edition of Santander Universities’
Ibero-American Scholarship Program, three students from the
Administration, Civil Engineering and Marketing courses were
awarded one-semester scholarships and a grant of € 3,000 in
Mexico, Chile and Portugal.
Throughout the year, ten international events were held, on
the premises or broadcast live from the Anhembi Morumbi
campuses, such as WOBI on Leadership, World Business
Forum and Laureate Ambassador Awards. Such initiatives
reached more than 2,200 students, enabling them to exchange
experiences and interact with reputed professionals and
international leaders.
It is worth mentioning that the University had one of its students
selected to attend in two important events promoted by Laureate
International Universities, whose purpose is to discuss leadership
and inspire young people to make a difference in the world and
become influential leaders in the global market. The student
Rafael Fazzi Markieewicz, from the Civil Aviation course, was
been selected in March to participate as an audit student in the
WOBI on Leadership, in Mexico. In November, he also attended
the World Business Forum in New York as an audit student.
Rafael enjoyed the international experience, and had all travel
costs afforded by the Institution.

21Internacionalidade | Internationality
With a focus on promoting internationality also within the
academic environment at the Anhembi Morumbi University,
the Engineering students were able to interact with students
from the Universidad Privada del Norte, in Peru, through an
initiative called Clase Espejo. A member of Anhembi Morumbi’s
faculty and another from the partner institution jointly teach
an interactive online lesson, at no extra cost, to students and
with an international impact within the classroom. In October,
about 80 students had the opportunity to participate, in
person or over the Internet, in an international lecture on
“Technology and Innovation”.
The actions promoted through the International Office also
brought to the classroom the chance for students to have
a closer contact with internationality. Through the English
language program offered in the curriculum of the on-premise
Business courses, about 4,900 students were trained and
acquired proficiency to face international opportunities in the
labor market.
Another way to approach students to the international scene
was to hold the International Fair, an annual event which,
in 2016, was promoted in May, gathering representatives
from five different countries at the University’s Vila Olímpia
campus. More than 800 students attended the fair and had
the chance to learn more about the available destinations and
programs, as well as the participating institutions.
InTERnATIOnAL STUDEnTS
Throughout the year, about 310 students of other nationalities,
from countries such as Chile, Costa Rica, the United States,
France, Mexico, Panama and Peru, sought Anhembi Morumbi
to participate in exchange programs in Brazil. During their
stay in the country, the foreign students were supported by
the International Office so that their experiences were the best
possible. They were, therefore, able to participate in several
interaction initiatives, focusing on academic improvement and
social and cultural inclusion, such as:
CITy TOUR Most of the exchange students participated in tours and
visits to tourist attractions around the city of São Paulo, for
inclusion in the local culture.

among other issues pertinent to their course period.
Integration Actions
do Projeto Carreira.
profissional do jovem estudante.
Com o objetivo de fomentar essas
oportunidades profissionais aos
estudantes e egressos, a Universidade
conta com o Anhembi Carreiras, o
portal de empregabilidade da Anhembi
Morumbi que tem por objetivo ser o
canal de relacionamento entre empresas,
estudantes e egressos. O trabalho
desenvolvido pelo setor proporcionou à
Instituição ser reconhecida na classificação
internacional QS Stars com a pontuação
máxima de cinco estrelas no indicador de
empregabilidade no ano de 2015/2016.
Dentre as ações promovidas pelo Anhembi
Carreiras em 2016, destaca-se a Feira
de Carreiras e Recrutamento. Promovido
desde 2009, o evento já recebeu mais
de 19 mil alunos e cerca de 230 grandes
empresas do mercado. Nesta edição,
estiveram presentes as instituições
AkzoNobel, Ernst & Young, Calvin Klein,
KPMG, TOTVS, entre outras. Durante sua
8ª edição, que ocorreu entre agosto e
setembro de 2016, a Feira contou com
a presença de mais de 1 mil estudantes
e cerca de 45 empresas representadas
por profissionais especializados, que
falaram sobre mercado de trabalho,
planejamento de carreira e dicas de
empregabilidade, além de promoverem
recrutamento exclusivo na Universidade.
Na ocasião, os estudantes puderam
praticar o networking e obter mais
informações a respeito das qualificações
requisitadas por cada uma das empresas.

The Career and Recruiting Fair attracted more than 1,000 students
Entering the labor market is an important
milestone in one’s academic life. Being
selected for a job is a confirmation that
the University education is an investment
that generates positive results for the
professional development of the
young student.
In order to foster professional opportunities
for students and alumni, the University
has set up the Anhembi Carreiras, an
employability portal intended to work as
a relationship channel for companies,
students and former students. The
work developed within the scope of the
initiative allowed the Institution to be
recognized in the QS Stars international
rating, having received five stars – the
highest rating – for the employability
indicator in the 2015/2016 period.
Among the actions promoted by
Anhembi Carreiras in 2016, the Careers
and Recruitment Fair is one that
stands out. Promoted since 2009, the
event has already received more than
19,000 students and about 230 large
companies. The 2016 edition featured
organizations such as AkzoNobel,
Ernst & Young, Calvin Klein, KPMG,
TOTVS, among others. The event’s
8th edition took place between August
and September, 2016. The Fair was
attended by more than 1,000 students
and about 45 companies represented by
specialized professionals, who discussed
topics such as the current labor markets,
career planning and employability. The
participating enterprises also took the
opportunity to recruit professionals from
the University. The students were able to
do networking and be educated on the
qualifications required by each of the
attending companies.
In addition to the on-site edition of the event, Anhembi Morumbi also promoted an
open Virtual Fair for students, alumni and the community, during which resumes
were registered to be sent to the participating companies, without any additional
cost or transportation cost, expanding their possibilities of entering the job market.
During the Virtual Fair, 8,546 resumes were registered.
Anhembi Morumbi offers the students a course on Presentation Techniques, focused
on the development of their communication skills. The program is free of charge
and supports students in acquiring knowledge that will help them excel in selection
processes and build their careers. Throughout 2016, more than 50 classes were
organized, mobilizing 20 teachers-tutors.
Anhembi Morumbi students can also participate in the Careers Project. Developed
by the Educational Development Coordination [Codese], the program aims to
stimulate self-knowledge about the student’s own skills, interests, values and
talents, as well as a better understanding of the job market in the chosen profession,
increasing students’ employability possibilities. The initiative is intended to help
students develop a realistic perception of themselves and the job market in order
to be appropriately prepared to enter the professional world or to promote a career
change. Throughout 2016, 6,017 students participated in the initiative.

Realizada

Starting college is a great challenge for students. The routine
changes and the expectations regarding this new cycle can raise
many doubts and require efforts throughout the academic life.
Aware of such fact, Anhembi Morumbi set up the Educational
Development Coordination [Codese] in 2009, which accounts
for promoting student development by improving students’
study skills, as well as providing a better scholastic efficiency
throughout their university life.
One of the initiatives is the Freshmen Project, whose purpose
is to welcome freshmen students from the on-premise
undergraduate course so they can identify themselves as the
subject in the learning process. The purpose of the project is to
increase retention and approval rates (from the 1st to the 2nd
semesters) through a set of planned initiatives to support the
student in the transition from High School to the University.

TIME MAnAGEMEnT COURSEAn online program that aims to help freshman students
better organize their routines in order to manage
course demands.
For academic, cultural and professional improvement purposes,
Anhembi Morumbi provides students with the Expanding
Borders project. By offering a set of free short-term extracurricular
courses, the program aims to contribute to the expansion of
students’ cultural repertoire, providing a better understanding
of current issues and enabling them to develop specific skills.
Over the past year, the project offered 24 courses, positively
affecting 5,895 certified students.
During the same period, 520 students had the opportunity to
participate in the Voluntary Monitoring Program. Promoted
every six months, the initiative aims to stimulate the vocation for
teaching in students who excel in their school performance.
Concerned about ensuring that all students have the
opportunity to develop their academic, personal, social and
professional potential, Anhembi Morumbi University offers
support to people with special needs through the Educational
Development Coordination [CODESE]. The work is carried out
jointly with parents and specialized professionals, such as
psychologists, educational psychologists, psychiatrists etc.,
as well as faculty members.
The initiative is mainly intended to provide both on-premise
and online students with an environment conducive to their
academic and professional development, seeking appropriate
and individualized ways to help them meet their expectations
for completing a higher education course. Through this
work, 2,316 young students with special needs were assisted
throughout 2016.
In addition to the actions carried out by Codese, the Colleges
making up the University also promote specific activities for
each course, such as technical visits, external classes, and
publication of well evaluated works in exclusive institutional
platforms, among others. Such actions help to stimulate students
to deepen the knowledge acquired in the classroom throughout
the semesters and to have a hands-on experience related to the
chosen profession.
The School of Tourism & Hospitality promoted a series of
technical visits in 2016. Visited locations include: The Hostel
Vila Mariana; Expedia Inc.; Maksoud Plaza; Vila Histórica de
Paranapiacaba; and Scape 60. During the same period, students
from the Radio, TV & Internet had the chance to visit the facilities
of Record TV, Record News TV, Portal R7 (website) and Rádio
Transamérica (radio). Such activities foster students’ engagement
with their future work fields, besides stimulating the networking
with experienced professionals.

Responsabilidade Social e Ambiental
comunidades carentes.
Rosa. Em 2016, foram realizadas ações para doação de sangue;
Moda.

Global Days of Service.
adolescentes (15 a 18 anos).
A ação envolveu
2016 a “Ação Cultural 15 X 15”.
promoção do bem-estar animal. Ao todo, as iniciativas contaram
A ação envolveu cerca

Gastromotiva e Ação Comunitária do Brasil.

Relatório Social 2016 | Social Report 2016 Universidade Anhembi Morumbi
Anhembi Morumbi University understands the social and
environmental impacts generated by the institutions in the
environment. Positively intervening in society is a constant
concern. Therefore, a series of engaging initiatives with students,
faculty members and staff are developed every year. The
University intends to raise citizen awareness, always reinforcing
the importance of each individual’s contribution to build a
better society.
In this sense, at the beginning of each semester, Anhembi
Morumbi carries out its already traditional “Hazing for Solidarity”.
The initiative proposes to welcome new students and encourage
the practice of socially responsible actions throughout the student
community. The action proposes to replace violent hazing by
engaging freshmen and seniors in social actions such as food
donation, charity bazaars, e-waste collection, donation of clothing
and footwear, sports activities, among others. In the 2016

Also conscious about the cultural and talents diversity within the
academic community, Anhembi Morumbi developed, in 2016, the
“15 x 15 Cultural Action”. The initiative consists of granting students
fifteen minutes every two weeks during the months of April, May,
September and October to present their cultural talents, which can
range from: photography exhibitions, arts, singing presentations,
choir, music, dance, theater or poetry performances, film, short
film and video clip projections, among others.
In addition to overall activities, some courses developed specific
actions and contributed to strengthening Anhembi Morumbi’s
social role within society.
In May, June and September, the Veterinary Medicine course,

and abdominal perimeter calculation for cardiovascular risk
assessment. The action reached about 4,500 people.
Throughout the year, four students from the last semester of the
Aesthetic and Cosmetic course with Emphasis in Professional
Makeup were selected by the Beneficência Portuguesa Hospital
for a training course in the care of patients on cancer treatment.
The activity provided care for 220 patients under these conditions,
directly impacting their self-esteem.
Partnerships with industry-recognized institutions are also critical
to expand Anhembi Morumbi’s actions and engagement with the
community. These include the Teleton, Gastromotiva and Ação
Comunitária do Brasil.
In collaboration with the Association for Assistance to Disabled
Children [AACD], the University brought together 517 volunteers
who were in charge of answering the calls made by the audience
donating money during Teleton’s two-day schedule. As for the
cooperation between Anhembi Morumbi and Gastromotiva, an
association that teaches the youth from the outskirts the art of
gastronomy through training courses, the University made its
rooms and kitchens available for the classes, so that students
could attend the course, and 138 certificates were issued.
Another important partnership was established with the Ação
Comunitária do Brasil, whose goal was to contribute to the
development of children and adolescents in situations of social
vulnerability, by giving vocational courses to empower them to
enter the labor market. In 2016, 160 certificates were issued,
with a total of 620 training hours applied.
