Renaissance Murals

Murals were considered the highest form in painting because their purpose was to illustrate religious lessons to people who could not read. At this time most people did not have any formal education.

Muralist/artist Judy Baca organized over 400 teenagers in Los Angeles to paint a mural over 2,400 feet. The mural’s images represented the history, culture, and diversity of the cities population.

GraffitiBanksy is the name given to a British graffiti artist, political activist and painter. He combines humor with social messages. His identity is unconfirmed, but his work can be found all over the world.
