The Destruction Ahead
TECHNOLOGY AND OUR PLANET
Technology is surrounding our lives every single day.
In a world with so many pieces of technology being made, transported, sold and used each and every day, the risks involving the safety of every living organism on this planet are increasing.
Almost every job requires a machine to work with, many people in the world own at least 1 laptop or television, and an believable amount of cars are being made as we speak (Medmond Tech, 2011).
With 7 billion people living on planet Earth and the amount of resources used to make technology each and every day, there will be a time when we are not going to have any more resources left just for our necessities to live.
Modern technology owns ecology an apology – Alan M. Eddison
The problem with technology is that once a new idea is created, we have tons of old technology that just gets thrown out as fast as it was purchased polluting our planet with nowhere to put it other than places where we don’t live and don’t care about ruining.
What happens when we have nowhere to put it?
PLANES, TRAINS, AND AUTOMOBILES
Vehicles are one of the biggest pieces of technology that I believe will be a key factor in the polluting of our planet in the future, and is one of the biggest factors to the pollution of the planet now.
In 1970, the U.S. Department of Transportation recorded over89.9 billion miles travelled and tripled to 246.3 trillion in 2011 (King, 2012).
Vehicles use fossil fuels to get around to places which release a gas called carbon dioxide which is polluting the planet.
When the vehicles burn up the carbon dioxide, the gases release up into the atmosphere that trap more heat from the sun from leaving the planet to bounce off of the thick atmosphere to hit planet Earth and melt the arctic which can turn our drinking water into salt water
(Climate Change, 2012).
This process is called the Greenhouse Effect

For a fun video of the Greenhouse Effect!
Each day we live, more pollution is rising due to the amount of technology being thrown out as new onesare being released for Christmas, birthdays, and for our jobs making it harder to protect our planet in the
future.
The life of our planet and everything on it is in our hands, the question is, how are we going to save it?
